The Dover property was beautiful, the location was convenient for our trip and how great to have a place so close to the lake and a swing set for the kids however the opportunities for improvement are extensive. We encountered more wildlife inside the home than out. Upon our arrival you could not walk on the floors without crunching insect caucuses. Before we knew it, we found that the walls, ceilings, floors and windows were alive with ladybugs. Much more disturbing was that the covered patio/stairwell to the game room was crawling with very large wasps which entered the living space and hid in the walls. The kitchen utensils drawers were littered with mouse poop, the cupboard with the trash can was a disaster and the laundry room was covered in debris. There was a sewage backup plumbing issue in the laundry room while we were there but thankfully it was resolved quickly. Overall, the house was in pretty bad shape in terms of cleanliness.
Very homey, cozy house. Loved the beams and old doorknobs; plenty of room for our family to spread out and each have a favorite quiet spot; bathrooms small but cute and everything worked well. Perfect home away from home.
Perfect for us! We all came from different states and met here for the holiday! Plenty of room and comfortable!

Perfect place for a group in town for tournaments
The fish came was perfect for our group that was up from Nashville for a two day Bass Tournament. Would love to see a couple bunk beds for more occupancy but I’ll have to say the place was perfect for what’s our Group needed.

From the owner: "Thank you for the feedback. We will emphasize with housekeeping to be thorough."
Really enjoyed our stay. The house was so unique. My friend kept getting turned around and going to the wrong room lol. We had a minor electrical problem and after notifying the host, he had electricians there within hour and the issue fixed. I was very impressed. This horse would be awesome for a large group. There are so many common areas you could enjoy your stay and not even see each other. We lived the rustic look of the horse. Will definitely use again!
I loved the house and neighborhood. Owner was great and promptly responded to my text. Dealing with Evolve was not an enjoyable experience. I will avoid properties managed by Evolve in the future.
This is an older home but my husband and I love historical sites and we absolutely loved this home. They provided us with all the cleaning supplies needed throughout our stay. Enough paper tissue, and towels as well. We have rented one other home in the earea and had to buy towels, toilet tissue, and cleaning supplies to clean while in the home. The earea is quiet and most beautiful place.
Thank you for having us ans we will return. s
The cabin was really nice but we had a sewage backup in the bathtub on the right side of the house. Also there was a water leak that dripped on the bed in the front downstairs bedroom.
The manager was quick to respond and repair the sewage problem. We did not tell him about the leak.

Underwhelmed
I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this place. The blind in the bathroom just collapsed, and it's clear that whoever installed it was too careless to do it properly. They even put it up upside down and couldn't be bothered to remove the old bracket and use the correct one. I had to go out and buy duct tape just to MacGyver a trash bag over the window to maintain some semblance of privacy.
As for the beds, they were an absolute disaster. They all looked and felt like rejects from a secondhand furniture store. Unbelievably uncomfortable, and I couldn't get a good night's sleep on any of them.
To top it all off, when we arrived, we discovered that ALL of the doors and many of the windows were left unlocked. This blatant disregard for security is not only frustrating but also a serious safety concern. Needless to say, my experience here has left me thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied.

Hi Ernie, we’re sorry to hear your stay did not meet your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- After investigating the issue with the blinds, we discovered that they were damaged and couldn't function as intended. As a solution, we have replaced them with a simple café-style curtain.- All mattresses were purchased new in July 2021, just over two years ago. While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort, we're sorry the mattresses didn't meet your preferences. - Guests often open windows to enjoy the fresh country air, especially with the cooler Autumn weather. Occasionally, they may forget to latch the windows closed. Some doors in the house open with a simple turn of the knob, which can lead to the perception that they are unlocked when they're locked. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
We arrived around 9pm and entered the property to find it extremely hot. It was 84 degrees upstairs and 82 on the main level. 5 of the beds were upstairs. We had one person on oxygen and it was impossible to breathe even if you were not on oxygen. I called the contact the next day after a sleepless night to be told he would have the owner call me. He then text me his number which he didn’t answer nor did he have voicemail. I text the contact back and advised he didn’t answer and want him to call me. No one called or text back. At this time we had two more nights and 3 days left in our rental agreement. We did not hear from anyone and it took the entire rental 2 days to cool down. Saturday evening the house was finally cooling off. No response from owner or contact. This should be removed from the listing to allow anyone to rent due to no response on my complaint while we were there. Horrible and very unprofessional. If your looking for a creepy place to stay while sweating your butt off this is the place for you. I demand a refund but how is that possible when they will not return your call or text

Shelley, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-We're sorry to hear that you had a hard time tolerating the excessive heat that week. We want to mention that you were allowed to adjust the thermostats and turn them down from the default 78-degree setting that you will find it set at upon arrival. There is a unit on each level, both in working order; they're centrally located and easy to spot.
-We never received a call or text from you during your stay. If we had, we would have properly instructed you on how to adjust the thermostats to relieve you of the heat.
-In regards to the style of the house, we're sorry that you found it to be "creepy". A vintage 1934 rustic log structure may not be everyone's cup of tea.
We wish that you could have found a way to contact us during your stay so we could have addressed your concerns in a timely fashion. Thanks for letting us know about your stay.
