Space
Step into this lovingly renovated cottage and be amazed by its exquisite heritage features and unique architectural touches.
The downstairs bedroom features a plush queen-sized bed with bedside lighting and freestanding storage for your belongings. The attached ensuite treats you to a roomy walk-in shower and a bathtub perfect for unwinding. The adjoining sunroom on the other side of the bedroom provides a lovely space, suitable for a portable cot if needed.
Walk through to the downstairs living area. While the space is generously sized, it retains a cosy atmosphere with tasteful furnishings, a TV, a great collection of DVDs and a toasty fireplace that might make you want to stay forever!
Head upstairs where you'll be greeted by natural light and warmth. Please be mindful of the original staircase, as it is quite narrow and steep. At the top you'll find a second living space. This area offers an inviting setting to relax while soaking up the sunshine. The unique atrium showcases the canopy of a 120-year-old Blackwood tree and an indoor succulent garden, creating a truly special feature.
The upstairs bedroom and compact ensuite branch from the second living space. An additional queen bed awaits, along with ample storage and space. The ensuite features a walk-in shower and toilet.
You'll find the kitchen and laundry facilities on the other side of the upstairs living room. This quirky space hosts a 4-seater dining suite and a fully equipped kitchen spread across several tiered levels. Appliances and essentials, including a fridge, oven and stove, are right at your fingertips. The laundry and a spacious walk-in pantry are located on the highest tier.
Other noteworthy features include electric wall-mounted heating in all rooms, while the upstairs second living space is equipped with a reverse cycle heat pump. All guests are welcome to enjoy the garden and take advantage of the complimentary off-street parking.

The Neighborhood
One of Tasmania’s historic towns, the picturesque Evandale sits on the banks of the South Esk River, 18 kilometres south of Launceston. Named after early colonial explorer and Surveyor-General George Evans, the town is famous for its late-Georgian and early Victorian buildings with relatively untouched streetscape. It also hosts a popular Sunday market and is the annual World Penny Farthing Championships, along with the Glover Prize, named after the father of Australian landscape painting, John Glover.
Many attractions, amenities and eateries are right at your doorstep! The Clarendon Arms hotel serves up British Pub style meals. This hotel arguably has one of the best beer gardens in northern Tasmania. Additional noteworthy eateries include, No.10, the Evandale Cafe, and the Prince of Wales Hotel. The cottage is also within walking distance to a small convenient store, newsagent, post office and right near the Anteiku antique store.
The beloved Evandale market is not to be missed, with unique creations and hidden gems every Sunday, located on Logan Road. The market holds a lovely country charm, providing a great range of fresh local produce, tasty food vans and stalls with local crafts, bric-a-brac, and even pony rides! Make your way to Morven Park, where you can take a ride on a light rail steam train, perfect for the little ones to enjoy.
Only a short drive away, is the Clarendon Estate. Considered to be Australia's grandest rural colonial estate, this three-storey mansion sits across seven hectares of parklands, situated on the South Esk River banks. Filled with photo collections and museums, and surrounded by stunning gardens and old farm buildings, this estate is the perfect representation of our strong historical roots.
The town is additionally only a short drive away from the Launceston airport, conveniently ensuring that you can access your flights with ease, avoiding the hustle and bustle of the Launceston City.

Notes
Whilst the cottage can be described as "quirky" it is to be noted that some upstairs areas have sloping walls/ceilings, which may prove a challenge for taller guests. But nothing a small duck of the head won’t fix. But this is all part of the charm of the cottage.
There's a popular pub conveniently on your doorstep which serves up some delicious meals and a great atmosphere – perfect for those looking for a bit of local flavour. Keep in mind, though, that you might hear a bit of noise, especially on weekends when things tend to get lively.
The house is child friendly; however, please be mindful that there are several internal staircases throughout the home, and no baby gates.
Please be aware that the combined bathtub and shower downstairs is quite deep and may be challenging to access for individuals with mobility limitations. Additionally, the staircase is narrow and steep, which could also pose difficulties for those with mobility issues.
