Flinders Island Gourmet Retreat at Cooma House was the artist John Parish's abode. It has been renovated with a newly built guesthouse wing attached. This comprises five double rooms, one of which is all-access; there’s a bunk room, two guest sitting rooms and a common dining room at the Premier’s Table.
The owner (Wendy) will be on site to provide complimentary two-course breakfasts and a range of enticing experiences, such as cooking classes and curated packages to include delightful meals.
THE SPACE
This unique complex sleeps up to 15 guests and has six newly built bespoke rooms, each with en-suites. All of these bedrooms have either a queen or king-size bed, and one bedroom with bunk beds. Each room is private, snug, and comfortable, has its own smart TV served by satellite, and each bedroom has its own bright and private en-suite.
Feel like some quiet time? Enjoy our little reading nook, browse our library and sit in a chair with a Nespresso coffee. We also have two small meeting spaces inside that are available for guests - outside, use the verandah or the courtyard or just go to the beach down the drive.
The property is on the doorstep of the National Park, the nearest beach amongst many is just down the road. Guests are treated to organic produce from the garden.
Breakfast is included, and other meals can be arranged separately at an additional charge. Cooking schools are offered by arrangement. The host arranges room cleaning and beds made up every day.
There are opportunities to book scenic flights, golf, charter fishing, bushwalking or history, and other island tours.
If you want a short distance break that is 6 degrees warmer than Melbourne in winter, then come along and visit Flinders Island.
Guests are looked after in Wendy's guest house. It is the perfect opportunity for large groups to have quality time together at Cooma House.
The house is on 4.5ha. The house can be used for relaxation-style or adventure walking holidays, historical tours, fishing, photography, painting, and writing; loud parties are prohibited.
