House was great and perfect location. Excellent communication. One of my dogs loved that there were 3 squirrels in the trees, she had to squirrel watch every time she went outside.
Nice place to stay with your pets in the Capital District. We used it as a launch pad for trips to pick apples, hike and visit family. Lot's of restaurants close by.
Great central location of the home, easy communication with the homeowner, house was perfect for our stay, pet friendly! will be back anytime we are in the area to visit Siena University!

Great location, close to the school, and super convenient for grad weekend! The hosts were very responsive and helpful. Two small bedrooms with a nice upstairs bathroom- extra large. Great for family vs hotel. I would highly recommend to Siena families for any events/games/etc.
The house is cozy and clean. The bedding is new and the towels are great quality! Basics are all there for a good home base. We were there to go to Saratoga and Albany.
Visiting from TN and had to unexpectedly extend our stay due to a snowstorm. Host was very accommodating with the change. Driveway and walkway were shoveled as soon as it was reasonable to do so. Nice to have a homey spot to extend our stay and to be able to continue our visit with family in the area.

Nice home
The owners were responsive to my tv issue. The home was as expected and comfortable. Be careful pulling into the driveway if you have a low profile car, there are railroad ties lining the one side.

NY
The house was very nice. It is near a lot of good options. The property is managed through a property service. They list the wife as the contact person, but her husband is really the contact. That was confusing. Also, she is RUDE. Take her off as the point of contact if she doesn’t want to be bothered with it.

From the owner: "Hi Matthew, thank you for your feedback, and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the house and its convenient location! I’m sorry to hear there was some confusion regarding the point of contact. For clarity, I handle initial communication, and my husband assists with details like access codes to ensure a smooth check-in process. I apologize if any of my messages came across as impolite; that certainly wasn’t my intention. I strive to be respectful and helpful to all our guests. Your experience matters to us, and we’ll work on making the communication process clearer. Thank you for staying with us!"
Much more financially reasonable to stay in Lathem, NY vs Saratoga during the races. The house and neighborhood was okay but not luxurious. Our friends needed a place to crate their dog while we were in and out and this worked out well. Needed more lights in back yard, night stands each bedroom, an air conditioner in each bedroom, and the yard needed raked if door poop as previous tenants did not clean up completely. Dried dog poop on front door rug when we walked in on Saturday. It cleaned up fine but it was a surprise under coffee table.

Want my money back
There was mold in coffee pot
Mold in downstairs bathroom
Bathroom door would not latch( and sometimes slid open)
King size bed fell apart around 12 timed
Mattress slanted down on the one side ( almost fell out of bed several times)
Could barely get in master bedroom because bed to big for room
Listing said no parties but rule book in house said no visitors or unregistered guests(drove 2000 miles for my moms funeral- i needed visitors)
Got to 92 in house (we had to put window units in ourselves (should have been in already)
Listing didn’t easily show the fact that there was a basement apartment. I spent a lot of money I expected the house to myself
Cooking supplies were awful and there was no sheet pan for oven (had to buy one)
Towel bars(holders) were either loose or missing
There are several other things wrong but I can’t come up with them now.
I do NOT recommend renting this house.

Hi Michael, we truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts about your recent stay. Your feedback is essential to us, and we've relayed your comments to the homeowner, who would like to address the following:-Regarding the concern about mold in the downstairs bathroom, we can assure you that our bathrooms undergo routine cleaning and sanitization processes, making the presence of mold unlikely.-The bathroom latch and sliding door were checked by our maintenance crew after your departure, and they confirmed that these features are functioning properly.-We appreciate your feedback about the king-size bed and mattress. Based on your input, we have decided to replace it with a queen-size bed to better accommodate our guests' preferences. Rest assured, we have not received any complaints about the bed or mattress before your stay.-Concerning the accessibility to the master bedroom, we have not encountered any issues or complaints from previous guests. The room is designed to provide ample space, including a spacious walk-in closet.-As for the air conditioning, we typically install window units in June, as temperatures generally do not reach uncomfortable levels until early in the month. However, we regret that we were not made aware of your discomfort during your stay, as we would have gladly addressed the issue promptly.-Regarding the basement apartment, our listing clearly outlines that it is a separate, private accommodation from the main house. This setup ensures guests have their own dedicated space, allowing for optimal privacy and comfort during their stay.-Concerning the cooking supplies, we strive to provide an adequate assortment of essential items to meet our guests' culinary needs. However, we appreciate your feedback, and sheet pans will be added to the kitchen inventory to enhance the cooking experience for future guests..-Our maintenance crew has inspected the towel bars and holders, confirming that they are securely fastened and not loose. We strive to maintain our property in excellent condition to ensure our guests' comfort and satisfaction. Our commitment to providing an exceptional stay remains steadfast, and we eagerly anticipate hosting many more satisfied guests.
Fenced in yard(s). One has broken spindles and spaces where the fence does not connect. The other fenced area was installed with large gaps at the bottom. Dogs can get right out. Do not leave your pets there as it is a very busy road. Kitchen was very old, broken down and nothing to speak of for dishes etc. Tile on floor is disguising. We had lights in the kitchen and outside blinking. Not sure if there is an electrical problem or only lights need changing. Smell coming from the lower level. By the way there is a gap in the railing going to basement to kids and dogs can fall through. The did state there was not railing on the outside of the upper stairs. Sleeping for 4 to 6 people without enough places for the people to sit in the living room. So disappointed we left after looking it over for 1/2 hour and asked for 1 night refund and wasn't given that. They actually texted me on Sunday (check out day) to see how our stay was. We didn't stay. The comment I got was "Good luck with finding more Ab&b mansions". Never will book anything that Evolve handles for VRBO.

Hi Clyde, we want to make vacation rental easy for everyone, and we're sorry if you felt caught off guard. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We use local, professional photographers to make sure that the listing photos correctly reflect the property, so the living room furniture and backyard fence you see on the listing are accurately advertised.
- Our property is close to a road that is not typically too busy with traffic but is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood. We do include a map on our listing so that guests can see the approximate location of the home prior to booking.
- We take great pride in the standards of cleanliness and service that we provide for our guests. We encourage guests to reach out to us or Evolve while they are in residence with any issues so that we can address any concerns quickly for a comfortable stay.
- The safety of our guests will always be our highest priority, and we’re happy to confirm the basement railing won’t be an issue moving forward. The basement has been sealed off and secured, with no gaps or railings for kids or dogs to fall off.
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review, and providing feedback on your stay.
