About this property
Perfect Home for Large Family Gatherings in South Fork/Creede Colorado all year
Our comfortable and spacious hideaway is just a short drive to Wolf Creek Pass, known for 'the most snow in Colorado. Wolves' Den is a beautiful 2,375 sq. ft. two-story home with High-Speed Internet and WiFi Access while offering gorgeous views of San Juan Mountains and Rio Grande National Forest. The Rio Grande River is one block nearby. Near the Wolf Creek Ski Area, Pagosa Springs, Alamosa (Great Sand Dunes), the Historic Mining Town of Creede and the Headwaters of the Rio Grande River.
The Home is nicknamed 'The Wolves’ Den' because it allows families and friends to gather together for fun and fellowship and has five (5) bedrooms with one king, three queen, three full, and two twin beds. See more info at our website listed below.
The Master Bedroom (SoulMates) is upstairs with its own private balcony. It offers a queen-size New Zealand Pine bed with a Pillow-top Mattress and gorgeous views of the area through the large window and door that opens onto a 200 sq. ft. private balcony where you often see the deer crossing from the mountains to the riverside. Room comes complete with its own mini-fridge and sitting area to enjoy your privacy in comfort or just gaze at the awesome views out your window and off your balcony. Room has a large walk-in closet and armoire settee for your convenience.
The Downstair's Bedrooms are furnished with a king, queen, and a full-size futon bed/couch and a single bunk bed above. One room, nicknamed 'The DreamCatcher Room', has its own attached dual sink bathroom. In the closet, there are two queen-size and one twin pillow-top air mattress for sleeping five more.
Another room ('The WildLife Room') offers lots of drawer space and two closets for adults or children to store their gear.
The Study upstairs (UF's room) has been furnished with a full-size pillow top mattress, dresser and night stand. It is small, but the view out the window is breathtaking
Our latest addition is "The TreeHouse Room" with full and twin beds and a built-in entertainment center. Treehouse Room is 200 sq ft. of blue pine, wood flooring and a palisades view, especially at sunset since it faces west.
Downstairs comes complete with a WIFI and High-Speed Internet Access, Satellite TV and DVD/VCR. There are many DVDs for your enjoyment along with books, games in the front closet. For dining or playing cards and games, there are two tables and 14 chairs.
The Living Room area has a gas fireplace with a large sofa and rocker to just enjoy the view out of the many windows, watch satellite TV or a favorite movie or read a good book.
The Back Patio has a propane BBQ grill and Fireplace sitting area with a view of the mountains and National Forest.
The newly built and expanded Front Deck offers a view of Del Norte peak and often deer. The Rio Grande River is straight ahead but just out of sight.
Call or Email Today to Reserve your Ideal Vacation and then start planning your trip toward our home located off the Silver Thread Scenic Byway (Highway 149) where for 75 miles you can see breathtaking inspiring views of the San Juan Mountains (most highly mineralized in Colorado).
You can visit the Historic Town of Creede and enjoy their quaint shops and dining and then travel the 16 mile Bachelor Mining Trail or attend the renowned Creede Repertory Theatre with several different live plays during the summer. Still feeling adventurous get back in your car for a short drive north on the Silver Thread Scenic Byway to the headwaters of the Rio Grande River and North Creek Falls. You can also head south from our home turning right unto Highway 160W to Wolf Creek Pass for some winter sports, or horseback riding, or go over the mountain pass to Pagosa Springs to see Treasure Falls and for more quaint shops and dining. In South Fork, you will find all that you need for your stay; Rainbow Grocery for all your food and fishing needs, UBC Hardware, liquor, movie rentals, ski and snowmobiling rentals, some cute shops, and fine dining from steaks at Rock Away Cafe, great food open to the public at the Rio Grande Club at the golf course.
Wolf Creek Pass in southwestern Colorado forms the pristine headwaters of the Rio Grande and San Juan Rivers. Bridging the South San Juan and Weminuche Wilderness Areas, the pass is beloved for stunning vistas and ample opportunities for backcountry recreation along the Continental Divide. It is also one of the most biologically-important areas in the Southern Rockies, providing habitat and migration pathways for elk, deer, black bear and the Canada lynx.
