A beautifull simple cabin built to accommodate the cattle drover, so comfy and warm. There is the original shed next door and walking tracks. The views of the escarpment are all around you. There is an out door barbecue too!

A lovely cabin with beautiful views

This was the second time we have stayed at Drover’s Cottage and we absolutely love it. It’s a great little cottage with everything you need and has stunning views from all angles.

Always great

Have stayed here multiple times now and always love it. It's becoming our go to getaway from Sydney for a long weekend. The fact that it's pet friendly is fantastic and being down in the Megalong valley is always enjoyable.

We have stayed here a few times and it is a great little place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney. It’s fenced all around and fantastic for dogs.

Beautiful in the Megalong!

We loved our stay here! Dog was safe with good running room around the welcoming cottage. We used the wood fire every night- generated good warmth despite a cold wind. Note that flu lever needs to be on the right to enable door to open- good safety lock for young children. Follow the driving directions closely! easy to miss the turn to Butfield Road. Optus carriers have no reception, but Telstra was fine. We liked being out of range!

Simple is best

This little cottage has the most spectacular setting: views of the Blue Mts escarpment to the north and east, the beautiful Cox’s River valley to the south and peaceful paddocks and trees to the west. Whatever the weather (and we got it all) it was always awesome. The cottage is simple , in the best meaning of the word. For the two of us, and the dog, it was perfect. The dog-proof yard was great for us and it looks like the old orchard has a dog-proof fence around it too. A few things could be done to improve the setup: good, sharp kitchen knives, a colander, another sofa or armchair ( there is space where the random bar stool sits), a couple of comfy chairs on the verandah (in addition to the existing table and benches), where you might sit and read a book, enjoy a drink or watch the views. I hope in the future someone adds a deck at the back to take advantage of the best view. All in all, such a quiet and peaceful place. Perfect.

Excitement to high stress!

I was so excited to enjoy have a short holiday at The Drover’s Cottage. The drive through the rainforest was amazing. However all that excitement turned to high stress. My GPS found Butfield Road. I’m sure my car was going to suffer a great deal of defects. The bottom of my car kept scrapping on the top of the undulating road. This road was more suitable for a 4Wheel Drive. My GPS lead me to an open paddock with no house. I went back to the instruction that was provided and came to a gate with locks on it. I also took another undulating road that lead nowhere. At this point I phoned the number that was provided on your website and got no answers. I was so stressed I just made my way home. When I arrived home I phoned Mark’s phone and left messages asking him to phone me back. I still have not received a phone call from him. I would like to have a wonderful time at Drover’s Cottage but I need to have; 1. Contact with somebody who could encourage me that I was on the correct track. Where I could share my location and direction could be given. 2. More signage to help direction. Signage could start from Butfield Road. 3. No contact and the feeling of being lost and concerned about my car added stress. Their response: Our manager waited for you for some hours after check in - we thought perhaps you may have cancelled- I’m so sorry . If you’d like to venture back today in day light you’d be welcome to stay an extra night. My answer: What contact phone number was available? I don’t cancel. I was travelling in daylight hours. I still have not received a phone call from them.
