Loved our stay here. Everyone enjoyed the theater room and we had plenty of space for everyone. Beautiful views from the deck and hot tub area and very nice location. Loved how it was on the outskirts of Pigeon Forge but also easy to get to Gatlinburg, especially when we were there during the traffic of the Rod Run! Very clean and had everything we needed. Our host was great with communication also. Would recommend staying here!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Papa Bear Cabin! The location was perfect—close to all the action in Pigeon Forge, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. The view was absolutely spectacular and one of our favorite parts of the stay! The cabin was beautifully furnished and stocked with everything we needed and more, which made our stay incredibly comfortable. Our host was fantastic—very responsive, helpful, and truly a pleasure to work with. The kids actually cried when we had to leave. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Pigeon Forge. Highly recommend Papa Bear Cabin!

The property was beautiful and communication with the host was smooth. We really enjoyed our time there. There were a few cleanliness “issues” that weren’t horrible but I think it’s important to note. There was some hair from past guests on at least three of the pillows when we arrived, and there were a few small pieces of trash underneath beds and the media room chairs. I actually ended up cleaning it up so they wouldn’t think we left that. Also, I do wish it were more obvious that the spiral staircase is the only way you can get from the main floor to the bottom floor where you have access to the fenced yard. We took two dogs (one small one large) and we had to carry the small dog down the stairs each time, and the large dog had to go out the front door and around the house to access the fenced in yard, which wasn’t convenient,However, we did have a great time and the view was beautiful. The issues were fairly minor. I recommend this VRBO to other families!

So happy to hear you enjoyed the view, your cabin and our communication throughout your stay :) We do have 2 other cabins with fenced yards that do not have a spiral staircase. If you return to the area, I'd love to share those listings with you. It's extremely rare that we get a complaint about cleaning, and I reached out to our staff immediately. Your feedback has been taken very seriously, as that is not acceptable. I'm glad to hear you would still come again to give us another chance to show you our norm :)

I'm glad you liked the cabin and our "very responsive" customer service. I'm surprised and confused by the 4 star review, since I was not made aware of any issues at all during or after your stay. I hope you will provide us more detail if you had anything we could improve on for the future. We are use to 5 stars on all our homes, so take 4 stars very seriously as we consider it a failing grade.

Great place to stay if visiting Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge!

We loved this cabin! It is centrally located between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, yet because it was up the mountain, we heard no noise from Pigeon Forge. We could relax, enjoy the hot tub and fire pit, and at night the view was stunning. Thank you so much for letting us use your cabin - it made for a great vacation!

Thank you for confirming our listing "City Lights & Quiet Nights"! That's exactly why I put that in our title - we LOVE the aspect of how close we are to all there is to do and can enjoy the city lights view, but yet, it's SO peaceful and quiet.

About the host

Hosted by Laura Jury

Host profile image
My God-given gifts are hospitality and service, so that has made hosting vacation homes such a perfect fit for me and our happy guests!!

I was born and raised on a farm in south-central Michigan, and am blessed to still live just 3.5 miles from the farm with my high-school sweetheart husband and 2 young boys. Before becoming a full-time mom, I had a successful 9-year career in technology sales.

As a family, we enjoy fishing, camping, hunting, baking, playing games and traveling in our free time.

We love our National Parks for the hiking, wildlife and amazing landscapes and enjoy the Great Smokey Mountains in TN, Yellowstone in Wyoming, the Florida Everglades, and Denali in Alaska.

Our favorite warm weather destination is Florida. We chose Kissimmee as our first vacation home location. It's ideally located to the most popular attractions and the resort we chose is known as the closest to Disney, but is very private.

We expanded to the Smoky Mountains late 2021 and have spent a LOT of time there renovating the cabins to be perfect for our guests! Our hearts are definitely in these mountains as we honeymoon'd there 20 years ago and find endless adventures to keep us coming back.

We've spent a good amount of time at our place and can make specific recommendations to help you get the most of your stay - see our guidebook.

We are happy to share our place with others, so they can create lasting memories just as we have. We feel there is no better way to spend our time and our money, but to create memories with the ones we love.

Why they chose this property

We found this cabin for sale on a family trip to the Smoky's and fell in love with the view and location!! So excited to have guests stay and enjoy it! :)

What makes this property unique

Wonderful view, fireworks on 4th of July & New Year's, fenced yard & playset!
