We had a group of 13 people stay here for 6 nights for our snow trip this year, and we had a great experience. The location is fantastic — this is probably one of the closest off-mountain properties you can get, only about a 5-minute drive to the Mount Buller entry gate. The kids absolutely loved the three baby goats and had so much fun playing with and feeding them. The owner, Melita, was extremely helpful, friendly and easy to reach. She always replied to messages very quickly. One of our friends accidentally left her phone at the house after we had already checked out and returned to Melbourne. I contacted Melita, and she promptly searched the house, found the phone, and even brought it back to Melbourne so my friend could collect it.We really appreciated her help and hospitality. Highly recommended, especially for families or larger groups planning a Mount Buller snow trip!

Thank you so much for your kind comments
it truly means the world to us! We are incredibly grateful that you chose to stay with us for your Mount Buller snow adventure and that your group had such a wonderful experience.
It was an absolute pleasure hosting your family and friends, and we’re so happy to hear the kids enjoyed spending time with our three cheeky baby goats- they certainly love making new friends and being part of the snow holiday memories!
We always strive to make our guests feel welcome, comfortable and supported throughout their stay, so your kind words about communication and hospitality are greatly appreciated.
We were more than happy to help reunite your friend with her phone — little things like that can make a big difference, and we’re just glad we could help.
Thank you again for choosing our property and for recommending us to future Mount Buller visitors.
We would love to welcome you all back again for another snow adventure, family getaway or mountain escape.
Wishing you all the very best, and thank you again for being such wonderful guests.
Warm regards,Melita

House amenities were not clean.Poor cleaning job if there was any prior to our arrival. If you are travelling with a big group, this place is packed with furniture & other deco stuff hence minimal open space areas. If you are after a cozy rugged place this is it. Also note there were no heating in bedrooms ,only in lounges.
Disastrous and Misleading – Do Not BookOur stay was an absolute nightmare. The property listing is completely fraudulent; the photos bear no resemblance to reality. We arrived to find two separate, dilapidated houses instead of the advertised single accommodation. The hygiene was appalling. We were met with an overwhelming odour, thick dust, stained bedding, and old food scraps. Most alarmingly, we discovered rat droppings inside a bedroom directly under a pillow—an inexcusable health hazard for our nine children. One bedroom had a messy spider and some bedrooms had no curtains including the bathroom ,property was filthy, with piles of used towels and goat faeces in the outdoor area.Safety was nonexistent. Neither house had functioning door locks, and the "bunk room" was a poorly converted, unventilated garage where the top bunks lacked safety railings. The promised spa was unusable, the outdoor table tennis table was missing, and the kitchen stove was waterlogged. The master bedroom was locked, and the freezers were filled with the owner’s personal items, which were never disclosed. We also had no working Wi-Fi or functional TVs.We paid a premium for what we thought would be a relaxing holiday, only to spend our time cleaning and dealing with safety crises. The owner’s lack of professionalism, combined with the dangerous, unhygienic, and misrepresented state of this property, makes it completely unfit for rental. Save your money and your safety—do not book this place.

Short family stay
Although the property seems smaller than anticipated, it was still comfortable. It can do well with larger indoor spaces as the rain over the last couple of days confined us so. The TV reception dropped off a few times and there aren’t enough toilet papers resulting in us having to buy some in town.

Thank you for your review. Satellite TV reception was impacted by the very rare weather event across the regional area. It has never dropped out previously. Each of the four bathrooms were stocked with several rolls of toilet paper. Not sure how this ran out so quickly. Will ensure additional rolls.
We booked our stay last minute, but found everything to still be provided pretty well. The view from the house is amazing and this is a great place for a relaxing vacation. There were a few little things that could be improved. The property was dusty and very warm with minimal ventilation. Overall, we had a nice vacation away from suburban life, however we would recommend having an aircon with the house. Thankyou for having us!!

Thank you for your review Uditha. Glad that you enjoyed your stay. The house has been recently renovated with several trades being present prior to Christmas which may have been a reason for some dust. The house is regularly cleaned and disinfected to a very high level. Surprised to hear that you thought there was minimal ventilation as the house has several brand new ceiling fans and room fans and wide door balconies that provide great ventilation.
Wonderful stay at beautiful, comfortable and spacious property in perfect location
We absolutely loved our experience staying at this property. There are two beautiful, comfortable and spacious houses with gorgeous decor, three very comfortable different living areas each with TVs, and clean and comfortable kitchens and bathrooms.
The second house behind the main house was fully equipped with TV and lounge area, plenty of beds, a kitchenette and bathroom, and was perfect for relaxing.
We travelled in a large group of family/ relatives, including younger children, and there was space for everyone.
The location was excellent, with stunning views of the mountains.
David was a great host and was very easy to communicate with.
Will definitely be staying here again.

Thank you Jayarupi. So glad that you and your family had a great break at Alpine Ridge. Thanks also for your regular communication. Look forward to having you back soon. Regards David
The house was not as described. Communication with the hosts were rude and not helpful. Its was 0 degrees with no adequate heating or hot water. The bedrooms weremattresses out in any spot they could find and called it a room
The place was as advertised with lots of room and beds to sleep. There was a lot of personal stuff in the main house, including prescription medication left in the kitchen drawers- which i found not apt. Wish things were a bit more organised as we had to search all over for linen, quilt covers etc. some beds were made and others not. Its not the way you want when you come to stay with a big group of 20 people. There were no lights and light switches in couple of rooms. No heating in the bedrooms, and the door not closing properly made the night extremely cold.Nice view from the house and the kids enjoyed the goats and fire place.Overall- good.
Pros: We loved the house, thought it was better than the pics! The outdoor kitchen and dining was perfect for our group. Well appointed with lots of kitchen items. Loved that there was a cabin out the back for our friends with babies. The mountain view from the balconies was spectacular and lots of birds visiting including a black cocky!
Cons: the house was very hot with only one aircon. Could do with a couple more ac units for guests in Summer. Couldn't get the hot tub to work properly. Didn't mind too much as it was a hot weekend, but would have been disappointed had it been cold weather. Overall we loved the house and the location.

House Review
The location of the house is great with fantastic views of the mountains. The outdoor entertainment area was good for a large group. Similar to other reviews, we found the cleanliness of the house not up to scratch. Half eaten food left in the fridge, rubbish left in the ensuite bin and used towels left out, considering the price we were expecting a higher standard of cleanliness. One room has no windows and which got hot over night and another room is makeshift with no doors. Also no large area inside for lots of people to gather when the weather is bad.

Our apologies regarding the food, the waste basket and towels. We have addressed this with the cleaning team and this won't happen again with new protocols. Glad you enjoyed the large outdoor entertaining area and mountain views. We will do all we can to ensure our guests comfort and satisfaction with their stay.

We understand that we need to bring some sheets and towels for this journey. However, we found that some of the beds did not have quilt covers, which was disappointing. Additionally, the freezer cabinet in the front house was full, leaving us with no space to store our frozen food. This required us to walk back and forth between the front and back houses, causing some inconvenience. Other than these issues, everything else was fine.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Meerijig. We felt at home in the house, and there were plenty of nooks and crannies with places to sleep. We enjoyed many meals around the big outside table, and found having access to the many ovens a dream. Thanks for having us David!

Great location, reasonably comfortable but for a large group, has some down sides.
Great location and fabulous views. We particularly enjoyed sitting out on the deck where king parrots joined us! This place only had 3 bedrooms that had doors or were fully enclosed- the other bedrooms were either within a semi-open plan setting or were part of a makeshift set up. This made it tricky for our group that included various couples wanting some privacy. Also one bedroom was in a small airless, windowless space. Some in our group felt the bathrooms weren’t that clean and noticed used towels and sheets left in their room. Whilst there are a few different lounge areas there was no area large enough indoors for our group of 17 to comfortably gather together. There is however a large undercover outdoor area with tables and chairs. On arrival we couldn’t find any welcome book/ info on the house such as where to locate the wifi or how to use the idiosyncratic stove top. If you are a large group, want a place that is reasonably appointed, with plenty of beds/mattresses and are not too bothered where you sleep, it is reasonably comfortable but you do need to remember to bring your own linen and towels.

Thank you for your review Amber. We have recently installed a new spectacular bedroom skylight in the main house upstairs bedroom. We have also installed new bunk beds in the two ground floor bedrooms, produced guest welcome book with bags of birdseed. Our cleaning teams are running a revised cleaning protocol to ensure that all areas of the house are clean and beautiful for all guests. Hope that you are able to visit us again.
