About this property

The Red Haus stunning lake home on Okanagan Lake, W Kelowna, La Casa Resort.

**this home has a business license to operate and is exempt from the new STR rules in BC**
The Red Haus is set overlooking gorgeous lake Okanagan in a private and gated wonderful resort. The cottage is on the side of the gated resort, closest to the lake with walking access to the lakeshore and marina in a community called La Casa. The cottage has a beautiful panoramic view on the spacious composite deck of Okanagan lake and the vineyards on the opposite shore and is a beautifully and serenely decorated space for the ultimate place to unwind and relax. The deck is the place to be in the spring, summer and fall months and one of the most amazing views in the resort.

With three full and private bedrooms, uniquely all with serene lake views and comfortable beds and linens

The primary bedroom is the largest bedroom and has a new king size bed and a convertible twin bed for any children who may want to sleep near their parents. The bedroom also has a dresser, and wardrobe for use in unpacking clothes for your stay if you wish. There is also a work space with desk with view of the lake and a large smart TV.

The second upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed with beautiful view of the lake with a smart tv. There is a closet for use in storing clothes if you wish.
There is a a brand new loft above the queen bed with two twin beds. Due to safety using the staircase, children 7 years old and up (and of course adults) can use the loft. ***Adults assume risk of use for children no matter what age
***Adults assume risk of their own use. There is a sleeping mat for use beside queen size bed on floor for any kiddos younger who are unable to use the loft.

The main floor bedroom has a queen size bed with closet. All three bedrooms are full bedrooms and not open loft spaces so privacy is easy.

The kitchen is facing the deck and the view beyond. New appliances (including dishwasher) fully stocked utensils, knives, cutting boards, steak knives, dishes, glasses, wine glasses, decanter, plastic deck glasses, pots, pans, cooking sheet, pizza sheet, roasting pan, serving trays, kids dishes and cups are all here for your use. From cooking a full turkey dinner to BBQ grilling outside and simple meals, you have what you need to make it happen.

A Coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar is here for you with a kettle, tea offerings, tea steeping options, Kuerig (re usable pods for eco friendly), French press and pour over to suit your style. There is a store in La Casa called the Market and they also have more coffee and tea offerings for purchase.

2 full bathrooms with soaker tub/showers each. Towels, facecloths and hand towels provided with extra towels as well. Shampoo and conditioner, body soap, hand soap and hair dryer also available. Beach towels for all outside the cottage use are also provided.

Laundry is a stacking unit on main floor with eco friendly washing detergent and wool dryer balls for use.

There is a large DVD collection for family viewing time on the TV. Cottage wifi is included for access to your devices and applications on the smart TV's. There is a book collection for quiet reading on the couch or on the deck with some children’s book selections. There is also decks of cards, games, poker set and board games for fun together time.

The dining room seats 8 at the new large table and the kitchen seats 4 easily at the large granite island.

The deck is amazing and boasts one of the nicest views available in this resort. Watch the sunrise over the mountains ahead with your fav morning coffee or tea over the opposite shore where light cascades down the vineyards and onto the lake and the deck. In the early afternoon, the sun passes overhead and the deck has full shade to watch the evening arrive. Al fresco evening dining in the warm months here feels like it could be on the Mediterranean as you watch the sun set on the opposite shore vineyards and the dusk approach.
A new Webber BBQ to grill on for easy cooking as well
Enjoy the gas fire table with good company and conversations and on clear nights the conditions are great for star gazing enthusiasts and sky buffs alike.

In the cooler months, enjoy the gas fireplace and living room for cozy time and reading, movie watching and game board playing. The view continues to dazzle from the deck all year round. There are a few exterior cameras on the premises for security as well including doorbell cameras.

*just a note, dogs are on a case by case basis, must be approved by host at time of booking, housetrained and limited to one medium size pup (50lbs max) if approved. If inquiring about any dogs to join, please submit an inquiry only.**

The cottage sits in the midst of Fintry park and reserve. This over 360 hectare park is a nature lovers paradise. With beautiful hiking trails across the la Casa development and gorgeous view point spots with places to eat and take in the views. Hiking trails and ATV trails connect into Fintry park set right behind and beside the development.

Fintry park official entrance is a 5-10 min drive from la Casa and offering many outdoor activités to enjoy including a waterfall hike that is beautiful to enjoy.

In the summer, Fintry park has a boat launch, canoeing, wind surfing and scuba diving at a the barge at Fintry park. There is a heritage area and manor house to explore speaking to the history of the site.

The Okanagan is wine country. There are some of the best wines in the world made here in this region and the cottage is surrounded by vineyards from a 15 minute to 30 min drive away to suit your preferences. There are wine tours that will pick you up, your you around and drop you off safe at home. For info just ask!

For those who are more geared towards craft breweries, West Kelowna (about 30 minutes away) offers a great selection of destinations to visit. Vernon (about 40 minutes away) also offers some great options to try as well.

Grocery delivery is a snap here at the cottage. Order from save on foods in west Kelowna and get your whole order delivered for the next morning after you arrive for less than $8 dollars. This is a great service that allows you to spend your time getting into vacation mode and not delaying your relaxing time by having to worry about shopping before you get here.

The heated pools and hot tubs, mini golf, tennis and pickle ball courts, floating water park areas (close a little earlier as lake gets cooler quicker around early to mid september) fenced in playgrounds, general convenience store with cafe and other selections, ice cream and more are open in the warmer months. Usually the pools and hot tubs, and most amenities are closed for the season by Canadian thanksgiving. They are open usually at the beginning of May for the season. There is an onsite general store and restaurant serving cocktails and casual fare for the nights you don't feel like cooking.

In the warmer months, golf carts are available for rental from the management area as well as paddle boards and kayaks. The beach area is accessible to golf carts but not cars. Cars will park at the lower parking lot close to the beach and water park area, about a 5 min walk to beach area along a trail.

There is a hiking trail on the road right below the cottage which is quick access to the beach and water park areas and is also a switchback hiking trail.

The beach is a rocky natural beach so water shoes for little ones and adults is recommended.

The lake is clean and clear. In the summer months it is quiet nice and refreshing. A breeze floats by often and sailboats and water sports boats regularly travel by. Read up on the legend of Ogopogo, (perhaps a long lost cousin of the Lochness creature) for fun.

The dog beach is located at the lower parking lot with a marked staircase down to the beach.

The boat launch is available in summer months and is narrower for information and a little steep. We prefer to go to Fintry park (is a 5 minute drive away) where there is a large boat launch for ease of use.

Boat-trailer parking is first come first serve in designated areas around the resort ( not parking in one of these areas results in a fine). Marina slip rental is organized by the management company and a link can be provided to set up a slip rental by contacting them.

In the winter Silver star, a large family friendly mountain with amazing champagne Okanagan powder is only just less than an hour drive.

There are so many options to enjoy in this are of the Okanagan from a fun friend getaway, to wine lovers, to nature loving hiking and wildlife enthusiasts, to families and couples to water sports enthusiasts, to winter ice fishing and hunting areas. Fintry and the Okanagan offer so much to enjoy and explore. Come and experience all the Okanagan life has to offer.

Exceeded Expectations!
We were very impressed with this rental property! The unit itself is was well organized, incredibly clean and had all the comforts of home. It was very well stocked. The view was amazing! The property itself has a store, restaurant, and liquor store, which was much appreciated because it is a little drive to Kelowna or Vernon. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this rental.

Wonderful house and perfect host
We stayed with family and friends (7 people, two families) in this magnificent house. Diana is extremely welcoming and very communicative. The house is extremely clean and well maintained. Comfort is assured with all the details of the house, including air conditioning. The view of the lake is amazing. There is access to a beach to the delight of all and access to a very well maintained swimming pool. Be advised that the distance from Kelowna is approximately 30 minutes. The roads are beautiful, but you have to plan the trip if you visit the city and the surrounding area. Thank you Diana for this magnificent stay.

Great family stay in a beautiful home
Our family had a great stay at the Red Haus! Diana’s communication was very clear and detailed. The home was very clean and well stocked with all the essentials you might need, with a beautiful view of the lake from the patio. It’s a great place for families who want to stay in a family oriented community outside of Kelowna. Thank you, Diana, for your hospitality!

Why they chose this property

This place steals your heart as soon as you spend any time here. First, the lake views are gorgeous and sitting on the deck watching the sail boats passing by in the summer is the stuff day dreaming is made of. The views across the lake to the vineyards are serene with a morning coffee/tea or a favourite beverage in the afternoon. The cottage has everything you need to have a restful or energetic getaway with the family, group or with a loved one. The rooms are beautiful, updated, yet restful and easy to get comfortable in. The beds are comfy! There is a coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar stocked with the basics to enjoy. There is also a market in the resort which has all the basics available for purchase if you forget things or things run out.
The bathrooms are light and bright with a soaker tub in each for those that like to relax into a tub at the end of the day. The bedrooms have soft linens and gorgeous views from each of them to enjoy your morning coffee or tea from. The deck gets morning and early afternoon sun before turning to shade for the afternoon and evening, making for cool places to sit and enjoy your company. The fireable on the deck makes for an automatic place to gather and view stars on clear nights. Sky enthusiasts will love to watch the stars appear.
The gated resort around us offers so many things to guests. There is always something to do for busy families. The lake is a quick 5-10 minute hike down to the beach or a slower but very easy 10-15 minute walk down past the private marina to the lake beaches. In the summer, the aqua park at the beach is a hit with the fun crowd who want to bounce on trampolines and other fun things out on the water.
The cottage and resort is located in the middle of a massive park full of hiking trails and quad trails and wildlife to enjoy. The views from the trails at the resort itself are lovely. There is something for everyone here, the nature lover, the relaxation finder, the busy family.

What makes this property unique

The cottage is in a private and gated resort community. It is totally updated and a beautiful place to spend some time. The cottage has been very well designed in an open floor plan that allows everyone to come together, or also have some time apart for busy families. The main floor living area maximizes the view from all angles. We loved that every bedroom has a gorgeous view to take in from your bed. Perfect for lazy morning coffee/tea time. The bathrooms have plenty of natural light and each offer a soaker tub for that person who wants a relaxing bath or the busy family that needs room to bath kiddos after an eventful day. The location of the cottage is in a quieter row of just 4 cottages all facing the lake. In the front is private hillside so there is a sense of being off to the side of the resort in a quieter pocket for relaxing nights.
Whether a romantic getaway for two or a fun group or a family, this cottage is an easy choice. There is boat and trailer parking a 2 minute walk past the cottage in case you are boat family. The resort has a narrower boat launch but also there is the Fintry park boat launch that is wide, open and easy to use just a 5 minute drive away. There are amazing wineries in both directions from the cottage (Frind is a family favourite right on the water) and breweries as well for those looking for the Okanagan life experience. All the benefits of staying at a resort if you want them, and all the nature of a massive wildlife park to be immersed in and enjoy as well. The drive to the cottage reminds us of scenes in the Mediterranean. Slow down and enjoy the view getting to and from the cottage.
