Very lovely location surrounded by forested mountains. Has both beach (a little rocky) and a floating dock, both with spectacular views. Very nice property with a pretty loft area.
Lovely place with enough room for 6 people,
inside and outside the house. Near the lake, nice areas to sit and it was fantastic to go on the water by paddle board, kayak and the peddle boat.
We had a great time in the comfortable cabin. It had everything we needed in a beautiful location. Our hosts provided everything we needed.
We had a lovely time and created some beautiful family memories.

The place was absolutely perfect for us. Lots of room to sleep everyone and plenty of indoor and outdoor space for eating and hanging out. The huge lawn was great for games and we made good use of the fire pit at night. Would definitely stay there again.

The location is awesome and there is lots to do and see!! the lake is clear and lovely for swimming!
The house has lots of room and is in a good location except for early morning traffic noise....
We had a great time.
We loved our stay! The property suited us well and we spent a lot of time in the little beach house enjoying the lake and the view. The manual that was provided with detailed instructions answered all of our questions and we had no problems with anything.
We had a wonderful two weeks at Jake and Johanne’s cabin on Cowichan Lake. It was a great base for exploring the area and the cabin was spacious and well stocked. The kids really enjoyed the pedal boat and the shallow water. The hosts gave very clear instructions for check in and were quick to respond when we had questions. We hope to come back!
We had a wonderful stay! Beautiful lakefront home steeped in nature with sweeping views from massive windows. Very comfy and well appointed with everything you need for a relaxing time, . We had a great time around the firepit. We also had some lovely walks.
Jake and Johanne were great hosts. Wonderful Vancouver Island experience. We would love to stay again.
B & B
An amazing cabin in a beautiful location. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything you need, and that view! Although the elk were at the other end of Youbou during our stay, the resident rabbits and birdlife kept us entertained. The only small criticism is having to take all rubbish away on departure which we thought should be part of the service. Overall the perfect tranquil end to a hectic 4 weeks on the west coast of North America.
Thank you for a very enjoyable stay. Things we especially enjoyed during our Thanksgiving weekend stay included: lake swimming, paddle boarding, pedal boating, lounging on the deck, and star gazing. We really appreciated the care and responsiveness of our hosts when an issue arose, and all was very quickly and satisfactorily. Many thanks!

We loved the feel of the property and home the moment we arrived. We were 2 couples, each with a teen and everyone in the group enjoyed our off-grid week, relaxing on the private dock, playing in the lake and enjoying the views. Perfect place to disconnect, unwind , slow down the pace and recharge. Johanne and Jake were friend, gracious hosts and very responsive to any questions or needs that we had. I would 100% recommend staying here!
The cabin was beautiful inside, but in need of a deep clean (ie. noticed lots of dust and dog hair on certain surfaces). The patio was fantastic with areas of sun and shade and a view of the lake on a 1 acre property. There is an older dock that you can swim off of but it's quite shallow so now diving. There is also a small wade in beach, so bring rock shoes. There is no cell reception there but wifi is available and a cell booster for emergency calls. Check-in needs to be coordinated with the hosts. If the weather isn't great there is not much else to do in the area, so I would suggest bringing games to play inside. There is netflix though. They have a paddle boat available for use and it's a great place to bring your paddle board or kayak!
