We spent a week here with our group and loved every minute. Tucked into nature in Marriotts Cove, the views are jaw-dropping from every room, and that ocean breeze on the deck is unbeatable. The heated, fenced seawater pool was the highlight — so many lazy afternoons right at the water's edge. The house is spacious, beautifully kept, and has everything you need. Perfect home base for exploring Chester, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, and Peggy's Cove, with kayaking right nearby too.You can tell this home is cared for with real pride. We felt completely at home from day one and would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

Thank you for your kind review Rachel. We're very glad you enjoyed your stay and created some wonderful memories!
Kelly and Jonathan's house is such a special space. Just the most spectacular property and so perfect for two families with young kids. The pool was a real luxury to have, there's a big side lawn where the kids played games, and the ocean front down the steps was so gorgeous. The kids had so much fun catching shrimp and minnows and exploring. We rented kayaks, which I'd recommend to others, it was wonderful to be able to get out onto the water. There's an old rail line converted into a bike path not far from the house which made getting into town really easy. The house felt both very easily accessible to town and also very private and surrounded by nature. It was such a treat! The house has some age to it — just expect a little more rustic charm. Some broken things here and there, but nothing meaningful to the stay and the owners were incredibly responsive and helpful. The house was stocked with everything we needed, especially appreciated the outdoor lobster pot! We'd ABSOLUTELY book again if they'd have us! We had just the most fantastic week.

We loved everything about the vacation rental - picturesque, lovely home with room for all of us, well equipped, property manager available when needed 20-30mins from several destinations.
We really enjoyed the peace and quiet, beautiful water and sunset views, and the lovely pool! Pool was really large and temperature was really comfortable even for those of us who are sensitive to cold. Had a wonderful time!

We're glad you had a wonderful time and enjoyed the tranquillity of Seagull,
As a host of another property in Vermont we’ve seen it all and these hosts go above and beyond to make your stay amazing! We very much enjoyed our time there, the house was spotless, the kitchen was well maintained and had everything we needed to cook. The heated pool was clean and very relaxing at night and was a big hit with the kids! Easy access to the bike trails and Chester was an added bonus! Thanks again for having us.
Very scenic and close to lotsa of fun places and things to do. We enjoyed the pool.
Rain and travel via Air Canada the only drawbacks but no reflection on Seagull Cottage
We had a great 5 night stay. The heated pool was so fabulous after a long day at the horseshow. The house has everything you need for a home away from home.
This was our second summer trip to this property and it was another beautiful stay. The house was clean with all the amenities you could ask for. There is also a nearby trail that we really enjoyed using. The pool and views are definitely our most favourite part. We hope to be back again!

The villa is very spacious and enjoyed we our stay in a very comfortable and welcoming house.
The view is breathtaking, kids and adults spent countless time in the warm pool but as well enjoyed walking down the stairs to swim in the Ocean.
Owner was very helpful to find local gems and the pool staff cam write away to clean the pool when requested.
We will definitely go back there for our next stay in Nova Scotia.

We appreciate all of your suggestions on what to see and do as well. Covered just about all and slept well at the end of each day!
Serenity and comfort in a cozy place large enough to host multiple families. Location is perfect for a private getaway yet still have access to restaurants, the ocean, biking and walks. Just beautiful.
The host was very responsive, respectful and friendly.
The house was clean with a couple of unwashed clothing items left from past guest and the dishwasher doesn't do a great job.
Overall, we loved it, would stay here again and recommend it to all ages.

Beautiful property and access to Chester. The house was very clean. One room had a soiled duvet and duvet cover. No extra blankets were avaliable. Housekeeping showed up without letting us know and didn't return so the duvet wasn't replaced. We washed the duvet cover. We booked this property for 10 days, and we were very disappointed that the pool was not useable until the last day.

As renter noted they were not there for housekeeper to deal with their concerns and they were given the cleaners number, name, and told to contact them to arrange a time the renter would be available. The renter was simply not happy with a seawater pool although this information was clearly supplied with the information they received prior to their rental
We stayed at seagull cottage with a large family (3 adults, 4 kids from 10-15).
The cottage was huge, lots of space for everyone. There is even a small separate apt kitchen, entrance, and bed room (this mini appartement can be closed off if you wanted it to be, but we didn’t). Lots of space for everyone to have alone time but big enough to have dinner together and watch movies!
The pools was a great addition and we enjoyed relaxing around it when not sightseeing.
We went to some beaches with beautiful sand and rock pools. About 20 mins drive or so. Nice balance of quiet time and easy access to Halifax, beaches, tourist destinations.

Great location lots of room
Listing is a bit inaccurate but there is plenty of space. Place was pretty clean but the pool wasn't clean when we showed up and it took a couple of days for it to be cleaned all the way before we cpule use it. There is no shower in the master, there is two other showers in the other bathrooms. There is no hot tub, just a jacuzzi style tub in the master bath. Lighting in the house isnt great which gives the place an older feel. Location is amazing, great views, good spot to paddle board or kayak from. Take advantage of the public path near the house to walk to chester.

Thank you for your review Carter. I will clarify the listing. Although the hot tub is described as a jetted master bedroom tub I will remove this as it causes confusion. I regret the pool being unusable on your arrival despite being cleaned the day before. NS has had some extreme weather events this year that have provided challenges.
We were a group of 7. We were very impressed with the property. The views are worldclass. There's a few improvements in the house we'd recommend, like better blinds in the master bedroom, but overall the experience was a huge success.
The house was beautifully decorated and welcoming. Everything you need is right at hand. The views were so beautiful. Would definitely stay again, especially in summer. THANK YOU.
What a peaceful place. Loved the views from the deck.
Place is clean and beds very comfy. Everything you would need was provided.
It was just what we needed on our journey.

About the host
Hosted by Jonathan Griffin
Kelly was born and raised in Nova Scotia while Jonathan grew up on Canada's west coast. Seagull was Kelly's family summer home. We continue to create wonderful times and memories at Seagull. With homes on both coasts we spread our time between these beautiful areas.
Why they chose this property
Seagull, as the photos attest, is an oasis: peaceful, private, comfortable, with amities such as the pool to relax in and enjoy the surroundings, or get in a few laps. It is minutes walking to the Chester Connection Trail: an old railway bed, part of the Rum Runners trail that extends 119 km from Halifax to Lunenberg; Great to walk or bike, north it leads 2 km into Chester where you find the Chester Playhouse, Sensea Nordic Spa, the Fo'c'sle Village Pub - the oldest pub in Nova Scotia (serving good grog and fare since 1761) to name a few attractions. It's clear why we are blessed to call this home
What makes this property unique
For those wanting to venture further Seagull is central to many of Nova Scotia's premier attractions - by car: Lunenberg is 30 minutes away; Peggy's Cove 45 minutes; Halifax and all it offers 45 minutes; the Bay of Fundy, Grand Pré (the heart of l'Acadie history) and Luckett Vineyard just 1 hour away .
