About this property
Cozy oceanfront boathouse with stunning 360 views!
This little Scandanavian-feel boathouse sits right on Scotch Cove in East Chester, NS. Enjoy seaside views from every angle, with lovely outdoor seating, Solo Stove, and propane BBQ. The patio leads directly to the private wharf, allowing for easy access for swimming and use of watercraft and swim float provided (our deep water mooring can also be made available upon request!). The projector and screen make movie nights so much better and puzzels, books, and games are also provided! The boathouse is fully equipped for winter with a cozy woodstove and electric heating.
Scotch Cove is a quiet, cozy neighbourhood just minutes from the heart of Chester, a lovely sea-side town with fabulous restaurants, boutique shopping, Sensea Nordic Spa, Chester Golf Club, as well as amenities like grocery stores and pharmacies. Explore nearby lakes and sandy beaches as well as other southshore towns like Lunenberg, Mahone Bay, or the seasonal farmers market in Hubbards! Graves Island Provincial Park is just a paddle away from the place, and right across the road are hiking and biking trails, which can also be used for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing in winter!
The living room has 360 views of the ocean, a projection screen that connects to your streaming services, and a big comfy couch equivalent to a twin sized bed when expanded. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dining area, convection oven and stove, full refridgerator, microwave, and Nespresso machine! The living area, downstairs bedroom, and full bathroom are all easily accessible, although the doorways and hall are slightly narrow. There is a separate deck off the downstairs bedroom to a private sitting area and heated outdoor shower! The 6ft loft bedroom boasts spectacular views with double and single beds; the loft is accessed by an alternating staircase, not appropriate for small children or those with mobility or other impairment.
There are 4 paddle boards, a canoe, and three kayaks for your use in the summer and a shared swim float in the Cove to paddle or swim to. It is a year-round retreat to decompress and enjoy the sea. We also have a deep water mooring for those arriving by boat - please contact me for information! Paddle boards, kayaks, and a canoe are left on or near the rack with life jackets available. These are available to both you and guests at my place next door; I ask that you share these as needed. There are no currents or wave action in the cove, but venturing into the bay requires having personal floatation equipment. Any poor or impaired swimmers must use personal floatation.
