Central Pa. Country Home with Privacy & Room to Relax! Close to Many Attractions
Welcome to the Honeycomb Farm Guest House.
They say with the coronavirus, that "camping" is popular this year. No hotel community areas, elevator buttons, lobby doors, etc., to worry about. So why not "camp out" at this lovely farm? Plenty of places for tents, the camper, etc. And the best part......is the privacy.
If you are looking for a family friendly home near Ski Roundtop, Hershey, Harrisburg, Carlisle, Gettysburg, Messiah College, or any other place in the Central Pennsylvania area, this is the place to stay! This is not a "sterile" hotel environment rental, with three pieces of furniture in each room. This is a place with all the little things that make it a home. Great for a large family or a couple families with each bedroom set up for parents and children. ON_DEMAND HOT WATER SYSTEM ensures all guests will have constant hot water. There are NO concerns about the well water as it is certified against E-coli bacteria and tested for nitrates, and uses a UV light system to ensure clean water whether drinking a glass from the tap or with the kids using the hose in the yard. If privacy and quiet surroundings are what you are seeking after coming home from a long day of sight-seeing...this is for YOU! No neighbors watching you as you sit on the porch or the kids play in the yard.
Please Note: We do not accept reservations with large numbers of adults, usually not more than 6-8. But please ask, and we will see what we can do. We have had situations where some stayed in the house, and other family members brought an RV. We have no issues with such arrangements.
. This 2000+ sq. ft. home is nestled in South-Central Pennsylvania, in Northern York County. The house has three bedrooms, each with a queen bed and bunk beds providing enough space to sleep 12 or more very comfortably. This location is ideal for up to three families with children. It can sleep up to 12-14 using the roll out cots. There is ample room for RV parking. And enough lovely yard and trees to make camping a possibility for the family to enjoy. So having a bonfire weenie roast can be part of your weekend plans. While the house has most modern conveniences, the farm setting adds to the overall experience, especially for the kids. The nearly one thousand square feet of covered porch wraps around three sides of the house, making relaxing and enjoying the outdoors possible even with inclement weather.
The house borders a township park with a walking trail, soccer fields, baseball fields, playground, pavilions, and much more. The property is located on the far side of the park allowing a peaceful setting, yet just a very short walk to the park itself. There is a full-size bar-b-q pit for grilling ribs for the whole crew, and a smaller fire pit for roasting marshmallows with the kids. Everything from horseshoes to corn-hole is available. This is truly a property that allows the kids to have fun.
The property itself is part of a working farm, even though the house is newer and separate from the other buildings. Sitting on the porch in the evening, depending upon the time of the year, you may see deer close by, bats flying out at dusk from the barn, and other items offered by mother nature, including a working apiary. If you find teaching the kids a bit of nature as important, this property has it all. And we encourage the kids to pick from the garden as the season allows. While the farm is still active, nobody actually lives on the property, and almost all activities stop while we have guests, to ensure your privacy and allow you to relax and enjoy your stay with us.
The house has everything from a new full-load washer/dryer, to all the kitchen appliances you may need. A stove, full fridge, microwave, pots/pans, and other items are available to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Sleeping Arrangements:
Bedroom #1 (sleeps 4) - The first floor has a master bedroom with queen bed and bunk beds. There is a private bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Bedroom #2 (sleeps 5) and Bedroom #3 (sleeps 4) are on the second floor, each with a queen bed and bunk beds, There is a central bathroom with shower/toilet/sink.
There are also roll-out beds allowing extra sleeping in the bedrooms or the ample common areas. This allows sleeping arrangements for at least 14 guests.
A third bathroom is located on the first floor with a walk-in shower. All hot water is supplied by a on-demand propane system, ensuring enough hot water for all the guests.

There is a NO smoking policy in effect for all buildings on the property. However this is a farm in the country. Outdoor smoking is permitted with proper disposal.
There is a "No Party" policy. The line between family and friends enjoying themselves, and full blown keg parties is NOT a fine line to be crossed.
There is a NO pet policy, but will entertain special requests. All requests will be approved PRIOR to any deviation from the stated policies. Any policies deviated without prior consent will cause loss of any security deposits.
There is NO cleaning fee. However, you are expected to leave the property in the same condition as you found it upon arrival. Dishes and the kitchen area are to be cleaned. There is a full size bank bank with loft for outdoor group outings. This property is perfect for putting up some tents and having a picnic bar-b-q for all the family to enjoy.
We don't live on the property. And while we will be available to assist you in your stay, we are not going to "drop-by" every day to water the plants, and find excuses to check on you. We have done extensive traveling, and have seen overbearing home owners. We also have stayed places and never seen anyone during our stay. We want you to be relaxed, and enjoy your stay. If you don't need us, or have reason to call every day, that is fine with us. And if you do, that is fine also. But we leave that up to you.
There is a "blink" security system on the property. House entrances and property entrances are covered. There are NO cameras inside the house. Once you arrive and check-in, you can disconnect the security system by unplugging the sync card. This deactivates all cameras. We are not in the "guest monitoring" business. Again, there are NO cameras inside the house.
Thank you for checking out our property!

The owner had the house fully prepped for our guests. Clean linen on the beds and plenty of bath towels. The location was fantastic, close to where we needed to be, yet in the country…quiet and peaceful.
Our host stood out above all. When I inquired about Christmas decorations and a tree, he quickly provided a wonderful array of decorations and a beautiful, big tree. We had a great Christmas celebration as a family. He was available and attentive to our questions, but not hovering in any way.
This house is in a great location to visit all the sites, like Gettysburg and Hershey. Quiet location and great property owners to work with. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.
This is the second time we’ve been blessed to reserve this house for our annual car show trek up to PA, this house is just far enough out in the country to feel secluded but close enough to drive to nearby towns for anything you may need, house is furnished well and is a great place to stay, will be using again in the future! If you’re on the fence just do it, great property and great owners.
This farm house property was perfect for a family gathering with all generations. Our grandchildren loved sleeping in the bunk beds and playing in the yard as well the next door park with playground. We highly recommend this property!
We have stayed here before and as always it is a pleasure to stay and enjoy the surrounding area. Great host and always helpful if needed. We make the trip every 2 to 3 years and hopefully will be available during our next visit.
Took our first family vacation in over 20 years
Big enough for 4 adults and the 3 grandkids
Large property to walk around in
Secluded and quiet but only a few minutes to town
The owner, Mike, was very responsive and even accommodated a last minute request we had
Highly recommended!
Our families, total of 14 people, loved our stay at the farmhouse. Our favorite areas are the covered front porch and the large dining room. The kids love that it is neighbored by a park with playground and basketball courts.
Our family LOVED this property! Beautiful home and scenery. We spent most nights relaxing on the front porch or in the spacious dining area inside the home. Mike and Ida were wonderful hosts and responded quickly to any questions we had. Will stay again!
We had a wonderful time. The property was great, we enjoyed exploring it. The towns near us were very nice for fall activities.
Would come back again and recommend to others.

The house was quite wonderful, clean and exactly as described, for a mini family meet up and holiday visit. While it was a bit too cold for us Texans to enjoy the outside, we played plenty of board games at the spacious dining room table. Fantastic house for visiting and plenty of room that the kids did not feel too crowded.
This was the perfect place for our family (5 adults, 1 toddler) to stay during an unexpected trip! The hosts worked with us in spite of relatively short notice close to the holidays. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the common areas were incredibly spacious. We'll look into staying here again when we return to the area.

About the host
Hosted by Michael & Ida Thomas
Hello! Our names are Mike and Ida Thomas. We have three children. Mike grew up in Halifax and after meeting Ida in Denmark while in the Air Force, we decided to settled down in Central Pennsylvania. We are the actual property owners. We do not contract out with a third-party property management company. So if problems do pop up, you deal directly with us. That allows us to provide personal attention and deal directly with you, making your stay our priority.
Why they chose this property
We bought this family property more than 12 years ago. Originally we wanted to turn the bank barn into an auction house. And this was a great place for my mother to live until her passing in 2016. But "kids" happen, and priorities change. Due to school and friendship ties, we have decided not to move here from our current residence. So we are now offering it to others to enjoy. This property has much more to offer than listed.
What makes this property unique
Whether inside or out, this is a multi-function property. Boiling corn in the kettle over an open fire, grilling ribs on the fire pit, running around the yard, walking to the park, or just watching the sun set, privacy and winding down from the hectic every day pace, is what this property offers.
