Take nature walks and watch the seabirds on the beach or see hundreds of nesting egrets and herons, as a lonely alligator lies silently in a green lagoon. Many guests enjoy day trips to nearby Beaufort (15 miles) for boutique shopping, gallery hopping, and delicious food. Treat yourself to a carriage ride through the historic district where stately southern homes share space with grand old live oaks dripping Spanish moss from their limbs. If you like golf, you can play at one of the many beautiful courses in the surrounding area.
