The kitchen is fully equipped, and a wood-burner fireplace exists for those cooler evenings (wood supplied). An air fryer is available. At the rear, outdoor seating and dining is on a large private deck with a louvre system pergola plus an outdoor firepit and gas bbq (it is stored during winter so please ask if you want to use it during those cooler months).

The section is private and fully-fenced with plenty of space to park cars and boats.

The shower water pressure is excellent, with hot water being on gas.

We love Mangakino and have been holidaying there for almost 20 years. We invite you to enjoy the quintessential kiwi bach holiday experience. Mangakino is almost like walking back in time. What we call baches today, were once small homes built for single men or married couples, for those who were employed to build the Dam; there's much to discover about the area.

Why they chose this property

Our bach is a real cutie; we've worked hard over the years to make it comfortable and easy to live in while staying true to some of its original decor like the 70s kitchen wallpaper, duck egg blue bathroom and inherited crystal cabinet. Sanding/carpeting the floors is our last big job to do. The water pressure is wonderful (yummy after a day in the water) and we love the back deck, which extends to the funky monopitch cabin.

What makes this property unique

The unique benefit of this kiwi bach is having separate sleeping areas to suit. Six guests can stay which can be a mixture of children and adults, or just adults. There are 3 Queen beds. Two are inside the bach with the third bed in the new cabin. Some couples sharing the bach enjoy privacy, or families with teenagers; or put grandparents in the cabin; it's easy to mix it up to suit. The backyard is fully fenced and our awesome border collie dog stays, so you can rest assured the backyard is secure for kids and animals. We are happy for you to bring your dog /s or cats with prior approval. Note there is an extra cleaning fee for pets.
