The Franciscan is a luxury, studio-size space, with a tranquil, electric fireplace, and an inviting courtyard and hot tub, that’s located in the “heart” of Fredericksburg's famous 290 Winery Corridor! Fredericksburg is widely regarded as one of the top ten winery destinations in the world, and there is no better vantage point for exploring all of them than while staying at the completely private cottages of Der Fels!

The Franciscan is the original luxury cottage in the heart of wine country and is close to the famous Wildseed Farms, and wineries such as Messina Hof, Mendelbaum, and Grape Creek. It’s even close to Luckenbach!

Being a newly constructed limestone cottage with all the comforts of home, this charming cottage offers everything today's traveler wants, in a private setting. Enjoy the private hot tub to yourselves in a fully fenced courtyard. Or, step back inside to enjoy the large whirlpool tub or rain-head shower in the bath! Additionally, the Franciscan cottage is outfitted with a king-size bed dressed in beautiful linens, and a spacious sitting area to set the mood! Make the Franciscan your own private outpost in the Hill Country, and we’ll see y’all again soon!

Cozy Rental For Getaway

The rental was very clean and felt cozy to stay in. Proximity to Fredericksburg meant we didn’t need a kitchen as the mini-fridge was perfect. Minutes from wineries and ~10 minutes from Fredericksburg; would definitely stay here again!

A Great Little Getaway in the Texas Hill Country

The cabin was spacious and comfortable. There were some ants in the bathtub, but other than that it was really nice and clean. We loved being able to relax in the hot tub and play fetch with our dog in the private porch/courtyard area!

A great weekend in Fredericksburg

The cottage was very clean and accommodating. Lots of space in living area, only wish it had a coffee table of some sort. Hot tub was clean and functional, but I wish it could get hotter. I understand, they are prewired to stop at only 104 degrees! I would recommend, and stay here again.
