The property was amazing. We were not able to enjoy it as much as we wanted due to us moving into the area and using it as a home base while we took possession and waited for our container to arrive. The hosts were amazing and had great communication.

Fabulous Property

The property inside is updated and incredibly clean. It is centrally located to all the major tourist attractions. We had a great stay. Dealing with the property owner was easy. She was always reachable. Highly recommended!

Great Holiday Home

This is a great house for a family vacation. It is easy walking distance to a fabulous beach, with areas of beautiful soft sand for sitting and relaxing or for making sandcastles, and an additional rocky beach area filled with tidepools for the more science minded kids. The house is very private, and has a wide array of activities and toys for all ages. The beds are all comfortable, there are numerous sitting areas, and the hosts are helpful and easy to contact. We definitely know where we will be staying on our next trip to Nova Scotia!

The house is very bright, spacious and comfortable, on a secluded spot close to the beach, but no sea vistas. It could be a beach house anywhere US/Canada. Proprietor is responsive to any needs and requests. Trenton, New Glasgow and Pictou are close by for groceries and dining. Great location for day trips up and down the north shore. Ferry to P.E.I. also not far.

Trip canceled due to Hurricane Fiona

We would love the opportunity to rent this property. We received notice 12 hours before traveling to Nova Scotia that we could not access the property due to storm damage. We received a full refund.

So sorry Candy, that your trip was disrupted by hurricane Fiona. The Shorehouse sustained quite a bit of property & tree damage but we will repair & clean up and if we are lucky enough, we will get to host you on another stay! Thank You for your interest in our property and be well.

Shiite house

Nice house. Great space for all family. We left early as mattresses outdated and uncomfortable. Found multiple mouse traps around house and daily evidence of pill bug infestation. Mentioned to owner. Says he will address.

Thanks for your review Linda and choosing our beautiful shore home. We are sorry that you cut your stay short due to the beds being uncomfortable. Mattresses are a personal thing that we couldn’t possibly please everyone, however, some mattresses are new, especially the king size bed. The traps you mentioned are actually bait stations which is a preventative measure especially since our house isn’t used as often during the winter months.They are placed strategically throughout the house and not out in the open. It is a cottage ! The bugs you mention we take full responsibility, certainly not an infestation as you mentioned , but a seasonal issues that we have been mitigating.

A beautiful home and property with AC and screened in porch - BBQ is a nice amenity- hosts responded quickly to requests/inquiries - peaceful and quiet setting - about a 10 minute walk to a small public beach - 10-15 minute drive to another incredible public beach as well as shopping and other attractions - great option for up to 8 people allowing lots of room and comfort - would highly recommend this rental

Easy to find and check-in with good instruction from the host. Also a good location near Chance Harbor, NS. The home is a very short walk to a nice, sandy beach with clear water. The property is very private and pretty as it's surrounded by nature. We regularly saw deer, rabbits, pheasants and other birds. The house had everything our group of 4 needed for our week-long stay - 4 adult beds plus bunk beds, 2 bathrooms, gathering and recreational spaces both indoors and out as well as linens, dishes, cookware etc. It is probably best suited for a much larger group (10 or more?) but our smaller group chose it for the location. The property is located with easy access to beautiful Melmerby Beach (5 min drive) and nearby New Glasgow (15 min drive) for all the additional supplies we needed.

A wonderful Weekend at Shore House

We, two families with young children and dogs, stayed at Arlis' beautiful cottage and everyone had a great time. The Sore House is very clean, comfortable, well equipped, spacious and nicely decorated. The beautiful Sinclair Island Beach is just 5 minutes walking distance. Arlis is a great host! Very kind, accommodating, easy to talk, and friendly. Totally recommend it!
