We were originally booked for Cabin 5 which was a 3 bedroom cabin. Upon check in, the entire cabin had a very musty smell, the bathroom was very small for 3 bedrooms and spider webs had not been cleaned.. After speaking with the manager, they offered another cabin (2 bedroom) which had been updated and was MUCH nicer than the one we booked. They stated that cabin 5 was due for updating but had not yet been started. Due to the move, I can honestly say that we enjoyed our stay. While the cabin was small, it fit our needs. Please note that these cabins are no frill accommodations. Suitable, perhaps, for fisherman, but not for women or families unless they are used to camping. All in all we enjoyed the stay and the managers could not have been nicer.

This space needs updating and refurbishing. The toilet is way too low, the kitchen faucet drips and we could not turn off the porch light as we could not locate the switch. Also the refrigerator runs a lot and we didn’t even open the door. Up dating needed.

Hi Sue, thanks for the feedback! This cabin is next on our list for updates—several others have already been remodeled. It’s priced lower for that reason, and many guests enjoy it just as it is. We’ll check on the kitchen faucet and fridge settings, and we’ll make sure the light switches are easy to spot. Our team is on-site most of the time, so feel free to reach out if anything comes up during your stay!

Let me start with the positives, the cabin had a/c and a television, a nice table and chairs, and plenty of hot water. However, it was quite dirty and had a lot of bugs, spiders, and some evidence of mice. The cabin smelled damp and musty. The mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable, so bad that my husband ended up sleeping sitting upright on the couch. And the toilet was plumbed with hot water! I would not recommend for the price, maybe if it was cheaper and someone was just wanting a basic accommodation for a fishing trip it would be okay. It looked like the campground needed some work, but it did appear that improvements or changes were being made. We won’t be staying there again.

We're glad the A/C, TV, and hot water worked well for you during your stay. We do want to speak to a few points you raised. This is an older cabin sitting right at the edge of the woods, so while it is cleaned thoroughly between every guest, some pests are simply part of being that close to nature, and a vacancy gap before your stay likely let a few spiders build webs. We've since purchased new mattresses, so that comfort issue has been addressed. As for the toilet, it's intentionally plumbed that way to prevent the tank from sweating due to how cold our well water runs, which helps avoid condensation pooling on the floor. We're continually working on updates to the cabin and the campground, and we appreciate you sharing your experience.

The cabin was clean, cozy and stocked. If we ran out of anything the owners were very helpful. Great cabin to book.
