Inside and out was great. Was pretty cool to listen and watch the wild turkey’s around the property in the morning while drinking coffee on the porch. Great location if you’re volunteering at Garrison Brothers.
This was our second time to stay at the Blue Cottage. We enjoy the quiet peacefulness of the property and the convenience to visit other places nearby. We’ve already booked our visit next Spring.
Simple and small cabin with great hill country view. We spent most of the time on the front patio. Bed was comfortable and kitchen provided what we needed to prepare dinner each evening.

A Perfect Cozy Getaway
This little cottage just outside of town was the perfect retreat! It was impeccably kept and stocked with everything needed—shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and even breakfast essentials. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and there were plenty of towels and pillows. The location felt safe, with the added comfort of the owners living on-site. Best of all, the nights were unbelievably dark, allowing for stunning views of the stars without city lights in the way. A peaceful, well-equipped stay—I’d definitely return!
Quick weekend trip. Great location if you want quite solitude. There are no amenities like pool or any other activities on site. Just sitting on the porch enjoying the scenery. There are no restaurants nearby.
Loved this property. Only draw back was we like to clean up when we leave & we’re only given bare minimum of stuff to use. 1 trash bag, 2 rolls of toilet paper for entire weekend.
Our stay at the Blue cottage was peaceful, comfortable and offered awesome views. “Coffee with the Cows” each morning was fun! We enjoyed breakfast on the covered porch while the cattle grazed in the surrounding fields. We saw deer, turkeys, lots of birds and especially enjoyed the property dog, Shep! Bob and Doris are delightful hosts. We will check vacancies for this property on our return visits.
The house could use a good cleaning and organization of the kitchen cabinets. Not a lot of kitchen utensils to use if you plan to cook. Other than that it was nice.
Beautiful country side. Saw wild turkeys and deer.

Very nice quiet and secluded lodging
The Blue Cottage was very nice. We had everything we needed and it was very clean. We met "Shep" the German Shepherd who was a very calm and sweet dog. The location is great if you are looking for a quiet and secluded location. The houses are about 1/2 mile off the public road, and even it is not traveled very much. If conditions are right the sunsets are amazing. There were only the two of us so space was not an issue. However, it would be pretty cozy with 4 people.

Deer Trail Blue Cottage
Very clean and comfortable small cottage. What makes me give a 4 instead of a 5 is the kitchen supplies/utensils. Please consider adding grill tools (for the brand new grill), a set of mixing bowls, a colander, a set of steak knives, a vegetable peeler, and a coffee maker ( there was a coffee carafe, filters and coffee but no coffee maker). For whatever reason as we were leaving the property the gate opener at the property entrance didn't work and I had to disconnect the gate arm to open the gate.
