This cozy cabin, a sister property to The Albert, sits on the same acre but offers a different vibe with a separate entrance. Once a hunting shack, it’s now a reimagined tiny home for couples to unplug and reconnect. With a comfy California King bed, dual shower heads, and a large deck overlooking a hay farm, it’s perfect for relaxation. The artsy kitchenette and outdoor grill make it easy to prepare a romantic meal, while its location offers easy access to Hill Country attractions.

We had a lovely stay in Albert. The location was perfect - a little bit secluded yet a very close proximity to several wineries. Awesome place to spend a long weekend
Great place to stay if you plan to spend any time at the Albert Icehouse or Dancehall! The owner was very communicative and flexible. We will definitely stay here again.
This is an amazingly nice property that I would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet time and a wonderful experience. Right across the highway from historic and iconic Albert Icehouse and Dancehall. Close to any and all of the great wineries. Give this place a look and don’t regret it.
This was the cutest cabin and the location just across from Albert Icehouse was exactly what we wanted. The cabin was cozy and comfortable and had everything we wanted. The owner was so helpful on text and made everything so easy. WE will be back to stay here again!!!
My wife and I chose this gorgeous cabin for a romantic weekend in the Hill Country, and it greatly exceeded our expectations!
Aesthetically, it was a wonderful contrast of beloved antiques and ultramodern conveniences. It's obvious the owners put a lot of thought and effort into making it beautiful. The VRBO photos, though pretty, really don't do it justice.
The furniture was comfortable, and the bed brought my best sleep in ages. The double shower was a great convenience--no waiting in line!
Although I didn't do any cooking, I could see the kitchenette was well-equipped. With the double hot plate and the utensils provided, I would have been able to make most anything from among my favorite recipes.
The location has a lot going for it as well. Our favorite wineries (Pedernales Cellars, Adega Vinho, and Cicada Cellars) are just a couple of miles away in Stonewall, and of course there are LOTS of wineries lining the highway into Fredericksburg (more than 50 in the area!). The LBJ State Park and Sauer-Beckmann living history farm are equally close. Should you happen to want to "get back to the basics of love," Luckenbach, Texas is less than 15 miles away down scenic country roads.
Closer at hand--just across the road--is Albert, Texas, itself home to a dance hall and an ice house ("bar" would be a proper designation for the latter). That's great night life within walking distance!
I could go on and on, but then I'd be keeping you from booking this little bit of Hill Country paradise!

I live in Austin and discovered Albert, Texas in 2018 on the way to get our kids from camp. The sign in the Albert Icehouse read "Albert, Texas Population 4." I remarked "Wow, population 4!" to which the bartender replied "That's before those people moved," as he pointed to the home across the street. Well across the street was a well built ranch home in need of a little love. And the rest, as they say, is history. I bought the home in late 2018, remodeled it through half of 2019, and began enjoying it and renting it to travelers. Then in late 2020 I finally got to work on the passion project of restoring the little hunting shack on the property to a useable space. My pandemic timing was not the greatest but it is what it is and it was finally completed in the early fall of 2021. I am so happy with how it turned out, all things considered, and I cannot wait for you to enjoy it.
Why they chose this property
This property is unlike any other you will find in the Hill Country. It is uniquely situated, uniquely beautiful, and affords the special opportunity to truly get away from the hustle bustle and information overload many of us have to deal with every day. It is owner managed and I take great care of my guests. I am honest and humane in my dealings with people and have been from the start through pandemic-related cancellations, acts of God like Snowmageddon, or true family emergencies. I treat people as I would want to be treated. Period.
