Fun in the sun

Rick's Family Vacation

Everything was absolutely wonderful. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. Local restaurants, beach and intercostal area for the small children. The accommodations were also absolutely what we were looking for. They provided a large family area, separation so people could have their own private space, go for a bike ride or just hang out in the yard.

We love the location of this property! A quick bike ride to the Greenway and a short drive to the beach! Plus it is in the middle of excellent restaurants and attractions. A week in Serenity House OBX

Great beach getaway for a big family

We stayed at this property for three nights - 4 adults and 5 kids ages 5 through 12. The location felt safe and was close to everything. The yard was great! Had all the amenities we could have hoped for - the only thing we wished we had was firewood. The owner responded quickly and was very helpful and kind. We would visit again.

Family meetup

Our family consisted of my husband and I, our two grown children and their spouses, and three grandchildren in the six to eleven age range. Your house was a wonderful place to stay and enjoy each other. It was exceptionally clean, the beds were comfortable, it was stocked with plenty of board games and other amenities that came in very handy. Location wise, it was perfect with easy access to local, and not so local places. It had plenty of grocery stores nearby, and the kitchen was well stocked to do a lot of home meals.Correspondence was great, and all of my questions were answered quickly. I would highly recommend this house to anyone!!

Short get away

We chose to stay in the outer banks as it was one of my brother’s favorite places. We were just there for the weekend to remember him. Lauralee was super responsive and so easy to work with. The house is plenty big enough for everyone to have their space. Lots of amenities and close to the ocean and sound.

We are entrepreneurs from northern Virginia, who have businesses in real estate investing, home building, HVAC contracting, and short term vacation rentals. We also homeschool our children and enjoy traveling and spending lots of time outdoors.

Why they chose this property

We purchased and renovated this home in 2011. We loved Serenity because of its location on a quiet street, in a safe, family-friendly neighborhood with nearby residential cops keeping an eye out for the community's safety and well-being. During the spring of 2022, we decided to give our beach home and backyard a brand new look and had so much fun bringing it back to life! It is really important to us to help other families make special memories here as we have and to create a luxurious vacation experience that our guests want to revisit year after year. Having this home has given us a unique opportunity to practice hospitality while offering a wonderful, serene vacation getaway for families and friends who want to enjoy all that the Outer Banks has to offer.

What makes this property unique

We are proud to offer a beautiful hot tub, an outdoor sectional sofa, a dining table with 6 chairs that are nestled under a shade canopy, and a fire pit surrounded by 3 super comfortable Nags Head Hammock swings. In one corner of the yard hangs a cozy hammock as well as a clothesline on the opposite fence for those wet swim suits and beach towels.
Attached is a garage, with washer and dryer and a fun outdoor entertainment setup with a TV, comfortable seats, beach toys, beach chairs, 2 beach carts, 6 bikes, a wave ski (surf kayak), a Blackstone Culinary Griddle, and a canoe and kayak in the backyard, perfect for viewing the gorgeous sunsets over the sound just west of the house. On the front porch are four cozy chairs with a table, perfect for that early morning cup of coffee as the sun comes up over the distant ocean, quietly flooding the waking neighborhood with its warm glow. Towels and linens, as well as other personal amenities are included.
**PLEASE NOTE: The guest making the reservation must be at least 25 years old and must be among the group staying at Serenity. Neither smokers nor animals are allowed either inside or outside the property due to severe allergies of owners and frequent visitors. Thank you!
