Dunkeld House: Beautiful Country Retreat
Welcome to Dunkeld House. Beautifully set on the edge of Dunkeld township and the perfect setting for your next getaway with family or friends in the Southern Grampians.
Dunkeld House is an easy stroll into the Dunkeld township and the Royal Mail Hotel. Enjoy exploring the local area, with all of the wonderful walking tracks that the Grampians has to offer or simply sit back and relax, surrounded by the peaceful mountain views
Recently renovated and offering modern conveniences in a peaceful country setting.
The house has three large bedrooms, all with comfortable king size Sleep Republic mattresses, quality linen and soft furnishings. The perfect setting for a group of friends enjoying a food and wine weekend, rest up after a day of hiking or a family getaway. For the adventurous travellers, Dunkeld is the end of the new Grampians Peaks Trail - the perfect place to rest after your hiking expedition.
The bathroom has both a shower and bath with a seperate toilet.
An office desk & chair is available for use in the largest bedroom (with wifi).
There is plenty of room for kids to play and a travel cot / high chair is also available.
In the evenings, keep an eye out over the historic red gums for a fiery sunset and spectacular star gazing on a clear night.
We suggest booking restaurants well in advance if you are heading to the Royal Mail Hotel (Parker St Project / Wickens) or The Bunyip Hotel (in Cavendish).
Stroll across the oval to the Dunkeld Old Bakery for a great coffee and the most delicious hot sourdough bread!
The house is suitable for couples, girls/guys weekends away, hiking groups, families with children (up to 6 people) and romantic getaways. It is not appropriate for groups larger than 6 people, large family gatherings, groups under the age of 25 or for hosting parties etc.. if in doubt, feel free to contact us!
You'll have access to the entire house, which includes three bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, dining, laundry, mud room, bathroom and seperate toilet. Study area with full size desk is set up in the largest bedroom.
Set on almost an acre, there is plenty of room to relax, run and play.
Free internet and TV (including streaming options) are yours to enjoy.
PETS & WILDLIFE:
Dunkeld is a natural environment with abundant wildlife on and around our property and as such we don't allow pets. You will frequently see kangaroos, possums and many bird species in the yard and surrounding paddocks. Thank you for helping us to maintain the house and also protect the local wildlife by leaving your pets at home.
We are near the local football ground - three to four games are played here during the season and we will let you know if it's a footy weekend when booking so you know to expect a few hours of game play.
Join in with the locals for some country footy fun and hospitality!
There are two smart doorbells at Dunkeld House along with two security cameras at the front and one at the back paddock, providing outdoor security protection for you 24/7.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Dunkeld a decade ago and are exited to share our corner of the country with you. We think this town is Victoria's best kept secret.
What makes this property unique
We love Dunkeld house because it is a 1950's house that has been lovingly modernised by us while retaining the charm of the past. There is plenty of room to spread out on the property, breath the fresh country air and relax.
