Summary:
Bluebird Days... defined as a day marked by cloudless blue skies… the cotton-wool-
like cloud that covered the sun passed, and the sun's rays warmed us again. The
fishermen talked of these bluebird days, the days with the warm sun and calm water.
The Space:
Wake up to the sound of birdsong & fall asleep to the hum of waves at 'Bluebird
Days'. A coastal cottage situated among mature gums, willows & cypress located at
the end of a quiet no through road. Only a short 500m walk to the iconic stunning
Long Beach, with the main precinct only a short drive or scenic walk away featuring
specialty shops, eateries, local wine & produce in abundance.
Lovingly built in 2021, this home is a peaceful, light & bright haven made for making
memories. Features 4 bedrooms to comfortably sleep 8 guests.
The sun-soaked open-plan kitchen and living/dining area opens up to a north facing
deck - the perfect private space to throw some local produce on the BBQ, enjoy a
glass of wine and watch and listen to the native birdlife surrounding the property, in
such a peaceful setting you'd never guess you were so close to town! In the
afternoons, after a morning at the beach, enjoy reading a book and lounging on the
sun-drenched East facing deck under the beautiful old cypress tree.
All luxurious linen is supplied and guests are welcome to the use of boards, fishing
rods, books and games. There is also a beach shelter and chairs available for use.
The kitchen is generously equipped for the home chef to showcase their skills and
make a feast of the local produce.
There’s a wood heater and firewood supplied in the cooler months, rainwater on tap
(Robe town water is not pleasant to drink!) and a reverse cycle air conditioner for
year round comfort. Both showers have excellent pressure to wash off that sand
before bed, or perhaps have a long soak in the deep, generous bath.
If a short stroll to Long Beach isn’t your thing, pack the car instead & you can have
the tyres in the sand in a minute or two. There is exploring to be done by 4WD, plenty
of peaceful spots for some fishing, and your spoilt for choice when it comes to
beautiful beaches to walk, swim or snorkel - though nothing beats a Long Beach
sunset.
If you love your vino, there is an array of wineries within a 15-minute drive, with
several available for tastings in the Main Street year-round. For the cab sauv lovers,
the Coonawarra wine region is an hour away.
