It is a self check in and we are not on site. However, the cleaners are close by if required.
Caves Beach is a residential suburb in Lake Macquarie area about 1.5hrs drive north of Sydney, 30 minutes south from Newcastle and 40 minutes south east from the Hunter Valley with its famous wine growing regions. This is an unspoiled location, rated highly by American Express Travel and Leisure Magazine as one of the top 30 most affordable beach getaways worldwide.
The Caves Beach Hotel is next door, there`s a takeaway, Gelato, Spar Express, coffee shop all within a few meters walk.
The coast line is lined with national parks, public open spaces, unspoiled beached and few private facilities to capture a special function. Just inland is Lake Macquarie which is more than twice the size of Sydney Harbour and offers extensive shoreline for bushwalking, boating, fishing and water sports.
There are two car park spaces provided. Also there is a bus stop just outside the door.

Huge unit, great location, great comms with manager John. IGA directly underneath the unit building plus the Mawson cafe, Caves Hotel and the beach a short walk down the road. Best beach for families is Caves Beach which is down the road and to the right. We will definitely book this unit again, it was perfect for our family holiday.

Family Reunion
It was perfect for the size, location and accommodation offering. Loved sitting out on the verandah in the afternoon, evening.
The actual entry instructions for parking were confusing as they read like you should enter from Mawson Close but it's actually Caves Beach Road. We had to ask a shop owner to help.
Also there was no ironing board which was frustrating and someone needs to tidy the cupboards because people are just throwing sheets & towels in the linen press not folded away and maybe clear out out of date things in kitchen.
Also be clear on what's offered in terms of tea/coffee etc but great that there's a shop downstairs and terrific cafe. And maybe pop a note that the bathroom light comes on automatically but not fun discovering that even if you're showering so moving around, it goes off, leaving you in pitch black whilst you sort it out. Turn light on if bathing/showering.
Overall, a wonderful place to stay. We had a fabulous time and hope to be back one day.
