The yard is shared but guests have multiple seating areas outside to choose from.
Feel free to explore the 2.5 lot and enjoy the garden in the summer months. There will always be wood chopped and ready for a bonfire, no matter the season :)

I was very impressed with both the property and the host! We were welcomed with a hand drawn personalized note and fresh baked bread with butter & jam on the side… the first of many special little touches in this rental that had all the comforts of home. We also took advantage of and enjoyed the outdoor features that this rental had to offer… sitting in the Adirondack chairs and enjoying a beautiful view of the river valley, a fire in the fire pit and we also relaxed in the sauna. All in all, we throughly enjoyed our stay at and would highly recommend this VRBO rental!
Gemma is wonderful to deal with and the house was clean, well stocked and the welcome bread, jam and butter is amazing. We did make use of the coffee and cream as well as the sauna! A great place to stay for a family that is sick of hotels!
This property exceeded my expectation. Gemma was amazing to deal with and so inviting. Upon arrival, there was the most delicious homemade bread with preserves and a hand written welcome note waiting for me. A heavenly gift after a long day travelling. House was quiet, clean and well stocked with a variety of books and local treasures on display for purchase. What an amazing experience. I will for sure book again next time I’m in Moose Jaw SK
The house was a pleasure to stay in. The loaf of fresh bakery bread was a pleasant surprise when we got there. Very comfortable, quite and a beautiful view.
Absolute perfection! Gemma's attention to every detail, the curated touches, the gorgeous view and grounds...it was like being in a spa! Any future trip to Moose Jaw will have to be when either property is available - the 'Stylish and Family Friendly Character Home' or this beautiful 'Valley View Retreat' Thank you Gemma!
We had such a peaceful stay here. Waking up to a view of the Moose Jaw River valley is such a treat. A quiet neighborhood, a comfy accommodation, and really friendly hosts! The perfect combination!!
Wonderful experience! Nicely decorated, good privacy, and a great view overlooking the valley. Really appreciated the extra personal touches! Had lots of toys and books for young kids.
This place and hostess was exceptional! I drove in from Banff and a warm loaf of bread was sitting on the counter with butter and jam. What a wonderful greeting! This place is cozy and decorated exceptionally! Definitely a must stay if you’re staying in Moose Jaw.
Gemma adds such nice touches that make you feel so welcome. She has thought of supplying so many things to make your stay great or that a person might need - like spices in the kitchen, bandages in the bathroom, books to read, writing supplies, toys and games for kids/families. The best part about this place is the deck overlooking the river valley. It really is a retreat! So quiet, peaceful and relaxing!
Everything we needed and more. Gemma was an excellent
hostess made us feel right at home. Her home made bread was awesome. We will return.
Thanks, Beth and Claude
I was wanting a quiet , nice space with a view vs the usual hotel experience. I found a lovely oasis at the edge of town with a porch , an amazing view of a green space and the wide open sky. Clean, beautifully decorated and host had freshly baked bread waiting for me when I arrived!! Can’t beat that greeting. My stay was short but if I find myself back in the area I will most definitely try and book this spot!
This property is so beautifully decorated and stocked perfectly. Everything you need, plus more! The view is lovely, and the host puts an extra touch if welcome in to your arrival with fresh bread and jam. Fair trade coffee beans for you and even cream in the fridge. Lots of beautiful art and pottery, games and books. Would absolutely stay here again!! Thank you Gemma:)
The covered back deck called to us as we entered the home with comfy seating and a spectacular view. We enjoyed the hiking trail around Wakamow Valley Park despite the mosquitos. The home was well and tastefully decorated and equipped. The fresh baked bread with jam and honey was a super touch. Beds were comfy, linens fresh and clean. I would love to come back here again. Thank you Gemma for providing this oasis in the City.

The Hosts are very welcoming and accessible, the kitchen is fully stocked and the beds are soooo comfortable.

About the host
Hosted by Gemma Reichel
Hey! I'm Gemma.
The pandemic gave me somewhat of a pre-mid life crisis (anyone else?!) and long story short I found myself jobless and renovating half of our home... Since then I have absolutely fallen in love with this job and have 2 properties for my guests to stay at! I love meeting new people and designing spaces to make guests feel comfortable, relaxed and right at home.
To my guests: Thank you! I'm so grateful that I have been given this opportunity and appreciate every one of your bookings. I know I'm biased, but I really think I host the best of the best. Your stories, kindness, business and feedback mean the world to me.
If you have any questions at all please reach out and ask! No robots here :)
Why they chose this property
Two words: Hidden Gem. Wakamow Valley has been my favourite part of Moose Jaw for many many years and I couldn't believe when a house went up for sale overlooking the valley. It provides year round scenery, outdoor activities and wildlife watching. Our block is quiet and understated. Only locals use it and dog walkers from the valley.
What makes this property unique
The view, the open sky, the sunlight. My husband and I purchased this home in 2020 with the mindset of "slowly but surely". Our nightly price reflects the work still needing to be done on the property.
