Near Railroad Tracks
The property itself is nicely renovated and clean. However, it is extremely close to the railroad tracks (trains come through all hours of the night) it is also close to the road and the fire station. If you are a sound sleeper this could be the place for you. If you prefer a quiet night, this is not the place for you.

Hi Shelia, thanks for your review. After going over your feedback with the homeowner, they wanted to share the following:
- Thank you for staying with us and providing this feedback. The house is near the historic Southdowns, which boasts mardi gras parade routes and several sought-after overpass restaurants and merchants that are connected to the train track. The train travels mostly during day time and early evening hours.
- The fire station is on the main road approximately a half mile away, and sirens may be heard if or when responders are traveling to a call in the direction of the house.
- We include a map on our listing so that guests can see the approximate location and the surrounding area of the home prior to booking, but we apologize that this caught you off guard.
The owners have worked hard to prepare this home for guests, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests!
This house is super cute and very clean! They have TV’s in all the rooms and a new AC! We were in Baton Rouge to move our son into his first apartment and had room in the long driveway for a U-Haul trailer and 2 cars. I rated “Location and Neighborhood” 3 stars because the location is fantastic. We were close to his apartment, Walmart, Sprouts, and great restaurants! (We ate at one of the restaurants suggested in the owners email and it was delicious.) However, the neighborhood is very industrial with 2 trains that run at approximately 3:00am each night. Overall, we had a nice stay!
The neighborhood this house is technically a part of is pretty run down. However, the house is on a main street, there are cameras on the property, and I did not feel unsafe at all. If you are not familiar with where you are going, you might be concerned at first sight. For us, it was convenient to LSU and we were there for a conference, so out of the house all day. It served our purpose well. The towels were a little disappointing. Just a few more dollars on some better quality linens would go a long way. Overall, it was good!
