This is an extremely special property with an execeptional quality that is imbedded in every detail through the property making every part of the stay enjoyable.
The coziest, comfortable winter hunters lodge meets private residence you will ever find. This place is worth it that it's one of the few places I made it a point to stay at a second time.
“Slice of heaven” is not bragging if it’s true!! The entire property is every bit as beautiful and comfortable as advertised! You could host a wedding there and be very happy with the accommodations and level of cleanliness, picturesque beauty, and elegance, while still having the feel of a mountain getaway. Our host was easily accessible, friendly, and available as needed. All in all, we had a great trip and would 100% stay there again!

The location was perfect for skiing, the home was so warm and inviting. Everything we needed or wanted was there. All ages LOVED the steam shower after skiing for the day. Our boys loved staying in the loft. If we had any questions, Scott was fast to respond.
Perfect trip! Thank you for sharing your home with our families!
This was our third stay in this beautifully designed home. Both inside and outside the attention to detail is incredible. We love sitting around the outdoor fireplace in the morning and evenings and enjoyed a bbq on the tripod grill. There are so many lovely places to sit and enjoy the view and we were delighted one morning when a moose and her baby walked through the backyard as we were having breakfast. The bull moose appeared the next morning and deer sightings became common. Staying here is definitely a highlight of our trips to Anaconda to visit our family and we would definitely come back again. Scott is very quick to respond and accommodating.
First of all, the property owner was very easy to work with and very accomodating. Always available to answer any questions. Secondly, the cottage itself was spectacular - well constructed, magnificent furnished and decorated, had all the amenities we could ask for, was spotless, and still had a cozy feel to it. The outside of the property was just as nice - clean, comfortable, with plenty of living area, and with some great views of the wilderness, mountains, and a portion of the lake. The location was also great - pleny of things to do within an hour or so - horseback riding, four-wheeling, fly-fishing, hiking, golf, and of course, Georgetown Lake. Great family vacation centered on a great property.

Beautiful Lake House
The photos on the website do not depict how nice this home is. Every detail was thoughtfully planned in its design. We enjoyed sitting on the patios in the mornings and evenings. The kids loved the loft area over the garage. We bbq’d every night and used the firepit for late night marshmallows. Saw various animals, including a moose! We had one housekeeping issue that was resolved extremely quick by the owner. He was very nice to deal with and helped us with activities in the area. We went to the marina for kayaks, and kids enjoyed fishing. Enjoyed a day sapphire mining which was nearby and also a beautiful drive. I would recommend this house to families who want to spend some time in nature but like to do so in elegant surroundings. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Unbelievably Nice
This cabin is far from being a cabin! I found this lodge to not only to be accommodating, but beautiful as well. It comfortably slept our whole group and gave all 12 of us plenty of room to gather together for meals but also enough space to be out of each others way. The main cabin had three spacious bedrooms which were all furnished to the nines! The master bath was one for the books complete with the nicest shower, steamer, and fireplace. The kitchen had very nice appliances and an oven big enough to handle a large group. The living room and game area on the 2nd floor was a great place to kick back by the fire or play a couple of games of cribbage.
The outside of the cabin had a huge area to sit and enjoy an outside fireplace. Even though it was cold when we were visiting we spent a few hours around the fire enjoying the conversations of our time skiing that day. The large loft above the garage was ideal for our teens to sleep and get away from the adults in the main cabin, and yes it was unbelievably furnished and the beds were comfortable.
The location of this cabin, being so close to Discovery Ski area made it an ideal location for us. I imagine that in the summer months it would be ideal as well as it is very close to the lake. We also enjoyed the free drink tickets and tokens for the Brown Derby which was very close as well.

Incredible property for the perfect Montana vacation!
This house is INCREDIBLE! It is meticulously decorated (all Montana artisans), immaculately cleaned, stocked and maintained. My family of 4 plus my nephew visited in July this year. The home is just a short walk to the lake and has miles of open state and forest service land out the back door. The owner was very responsive to all inquiries leading up to and after booking and everything in the house was far better than described and shown. The home was designed and built to feel like it’s been there forever but has all the modern conveniences and technology that you would expect in a contemporary luxury home.
The kitchen was well stocked and everything worked perfectly. We ate in several nights with the kids and always had whatever we needed to make breakfast, lunch or dinner. All the TV and media equipment worked perfectly and there is plenty of comfortable seating areas throughout the home. However, as beautiful and comfortable the inside is it was hard not to spend all our time outdoors with the cool evenings, wonderful outdoor patio areas, fire pit and outdoor fire place! We had daily visits from all types of wild life and spent hours playing horseshoes on the commercial quality pits.
You can easily sleep 10 people very comfortably in beds. The house is absolutely beautiful! From the wide plank wood floors to the exposed wood beams, the house is VERY WELL appointed throughout.
I have rented several homes over the years and this was the best by far in all aspects, we will definitely be back!

This cabin nearly killed my son with carbon monoxide poisoning
A beautiful cabin, infested with mice, with a carbon monoxide issue. Our family was booked for five nights, on the 4th night, we had to rush my 15 year old son to the emergency room 45 minutes away because he reported he couldn't get oxygen. After a blood test, he was diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning. We made the decision to leave the next morning after spending the night in the emergency room. When we arrived, we discovered the cabin was infested with mice because there were droppings on the kitchen countertop. We cleaned the kitchen and later found more mice droppings in the loft. We also set the trap left by the owner and caught a mouse each night of our stay. Had we had more traps, I have no doubt we would have caught more mice. I communicated these issues to the owner who was not receptive to taking responsibility for either the carbon monoxide being generated in his cabin or the mice. He threatened me with a lawsuit for bringing these issues up to him when I asked him for a refund. The Fire Department and Health Department are currently investigating the cause of the carbon monoxide. We would not stay here again and caution anyone considering this listing to call the Health Department and/or Fire Department for their report. I will update my review when I receive information that the carbon monoxide issue has been resolved.

Kathy is a disgruntled guest who's attempt to extort money has failed.
I take these accusation very very seriously. The first time I heard from Kathy was the last day of her stay, almost 24 hours after their incident with their 15 year old son. After being contacted by the local fire dept., I made several attempts to contact Kathy. I then hired a local plumbing company to do a thorough inspection of the property for trace of CO and any other gases. they arrived immediately around 7:45. Upon arrival, all guest were inside the home sleeping. They conducted a full test of property, inside and out with the results of testing all negative for co gasses.
The home is furnished with several Co detectors through out the home.
The local fire dept. also conducted their testing upon arrival with results as negative and allowed all guests back in home to go asleep. They have closed this case.
I have been in contact with the local health dept. as they have also closed this case after their investigation..
As far as the Mice, nothing was mentioned by Kathy until the last day of her stay. She told me she had caught 3 mice and understood the home is in the middle of the wood and she was not bothered by it at all as she indicated she grew up in Montana. Upon arrival, all guests are advised of the potential of these critters and are instructed of a few common sense precautions to minimize the visitors. These guests clearly did not heed the warnings.
As my property manager visited the property on several occasions during their stay and witnessed the home in total disarray. I quote "big sty"
The kitchen was littered with old food left out on counters, Doritos all over the counter and floor as well as cereal, bread crumbs, candy and soft drinks. all used garbage bags were open and left inside the home. The inspection company also commented on how filthy and messy the home was in upon entering for their inspection.
This is a terrible terrible accusation to make of someone and their property without any proof at all. Shame on you Kathy!!
This is a very unfortunate circumstance that happened to their son, but it did not happen in my home and no one else in their party became ill.
Co poising does not discriminate!
If I may, I suggest they have a nice sit down talk with their 15 year old son and get to the bottom of what really happened that night.
Sincerely,
Scott Hamel
The grounds of this property are meticulously maintained and the craftsmanship of the home is incredible! The floor plan of the home is well thought out, cozy, and attention to detail has been given everywhere including the decor. Linens feel high end and the beds are comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked. Internet works well. There are plenty of sitting areas outside. You can choose the front porch area which has a hanging swing (and several other spots to sit), the outdoor fireplace, or the back porch near the built-in BBQ. Also relax around the bubbling pond, or enjoy a fire at the caldron or the fire pit. Nice touch having the horse shoe pit and corn hole boards. We did have a moose that would come down and visit from time to time! Our son enjoyed the "mother-in-law" style suite above the garage. There is a sitting area that has a TV with plenty of movies and 2 twin beds on either side of the room. This property is magical!
Our family spent a great get-away weekend at Scott’s home at Georgetown. It is everything that you see in the pictures, read in the description and more. We loved the outdoor fireplace in the evenings and the spacious back yard for family fun and games. The rooms were spacious and the master suite was one of a kind. We want to make this a yearly trip!
Incredible property inside and out. We were amazed at the exquisite decor and awesome vintage relics including old slot machines and fuel pumps - so cool! We had everything we needed and more to have the greatest 75th birthday celebration for my Mom. Everyone loved this property and Scott was very responsive and helpful if we had questions. Would definitely go back and hope to again!
Our family had a wonderful time in this house. It looks like a small castle, so unique. I cooked a lot, kitchen is very nice (a little bit too fancy, took me some time to figure out the ovens). We connected our Apple TV device to the TV downstairs, so had all our subscriptions available. Though they have a ton of DVDs to watch! Try the shower in the main bedroom, it’s amazing! We were lucky to have a lot of snow, the area is so beautiful. There is a small town in about 20 minutes drive (Anaconda), we’re we did grocery shopping on the first day. Overall - wonderful experience! If we can, definitely will come back!
This property was absolutely stunning. I wish the weather had been nicer, because the yard and outdoor area are the real stars of this place. Horse shoes, corn hole, pond, outdoor gas fireplace.....the list goes on and on. Not that the house was beautiful in it's own right, because it was. I would definitely stay here again. We had a wonderful time.
Only negative is having to leave.. This was a fantastic getaway. The home lacks nothing in terms of comfort. The attention to detail is evident everywhere in the decor. Everything is first class.
Would like to thank Scott for allowing our stay, and hope to be able to return many times..

Thank you Bobbie,
So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
Thanks again for choosing Whisper Mountain Lodge for your vacation.
The pictures on VRBO don't do justice for this house. Its simply gorgeous - lots of interesting details from the tile and stone work to the carefully placed lighting. The outside areas are fantastic and very relaxing. The house was clean, well-maintained and nicely appointed. The owner is easy to work with and very responsive. Go enjoy this property!
It was such a beautiful house. Never a boring moment with a 3 and 6 year old!!! The house had outdoor games, a small pond, a swing, and the favorite spot for all (the hammock). We had a one mile drive to the lake where the girls loved swimming in the lake. We went to the nearby sapphire mine along with a short drive to rainbow bay picnic area where the water was nice and a great shaded area for a picnic. The house owner answered any questions that we had without hesitation and normally within the hour. The house had the most rustic touches and was simply a “mountain home.” A few of us are runners and we were able to drive a few miles to lakeshore drive where we had a nice 9-10 mile scenic run in a low car profile area. The stay was very enjoyable and we would love to come back.
