Latitude 17 - Suite 1

The relaxed luxury resort styled suites, are designed to be “Your” own adult only holiday oasis. We have sought to consider everything you might need to ensure you can settle into your holiday. Latitude 17 comprises four spacious beachfront suites on one of Mission Beach’s most pristine and least populated beaches, South Mission Beach. With new ownership in 2022 each open plan suite has been professionally refurbished and restyled. All boast luxurious 5* hotel quality beds (Suite 1 – has a king bed, Suite 2 can be a king or split into two singles beds, Suites 3 and 4 offer queen beds). All have a kitchenette with dining table for two people (Suites 1, 2 and 3) or four people (Suite 4), a well-appointed bathroom and a relaxing lounge - which can be converted to a double sofa bed. There is a 50-inch smart TV (55-inch in Suite Four) and commercial grade WiFi connectivity throughout. The suites are all fully airconditioned whilst also offering timber louvres which can be opened when you wish to wake up to the sound of the Coral Sea lapping the shore in the mornings, letting the sea breeze drift through your Suite. In terms of outdoor living, the four suites each have their own patio and BBQ. This convenience and privacy is complimented by a resort pool overlooking the beach with views across the Coral Sea to Dunk, Bedarra and other islands of the Family Group. You can enjoy your afternoon drinks watching the colours change across the sea - created by the magnificent sun setting behind you. Some may even be fortunate to see the magnificent moon rising from behind Dunk Island. That is a photographic opportunity that should be experienced. The pool area has umbrella covered sun lounges as well as dining and lounge area, for you to relax around to your hearts content. There is also a restaurant quality, nine burner shared barbeque for your use, with magnificent views over the beach. South Mission Beach is immediately opposite your suite and the resort pool area, on the Esplanade. From the suites you can step outside your front door, across the Esplanade, just ten or so footsteps onto this stunning beach. Take a stroll or just relax on the beach. Or discover the Kennedy Bay walking track via Lugger Bay. You could also opt to explore Dunk, Bedarra and the Family Group of Islands as well as the endless things to do and places to be in one of Australia’s most idyllic locations. Suites 1, 2 and 3 overlook the pool and beach. Suite 4 is a larger, north facing one bedroom suite, giving a relaxing, yet private feel with direct access to the pool and beach. The property has a dedicated off-street carpark to the rear and access to your suites is via either the car park or the Esplanade / beach. Each of the four suites can be booked individually for your post card worthy holiday – and most often are. The suites can also be booked in several configurations to suit your requirements. Each suite sleeps two adults and also has a double sofa bed. Please see floor plans for configuration detail. Collectively the suites lend themselves perfectly to extended friends or multi-family breaks. You can enjoy your own private semi self-contained suite, while enabling you all to come together around the pool and outdoor barbeque / dining areas as you wish. Please do note that we are adult only. We also cater for extended stays, with a guest laundry offering large top loading washing machines and overhead dryers. This is in addition to the hanging drying space located in discrete areas around the property. South Mission Beach gives the feel of being not overly populated. You may find yourself being one of the only ones on its postcard worthy beach, that you will never want to leave. Latitude 17’s location is within a short drive to Mission Beach’s restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets. The property is perfect for those with boats. Latitude 17 is located on Kennedy Esplanade with the public boat ramp only 200m away, at the end of Kennedy Esplanade. Additionally, the Hull River boat ramp is only a two-minute drive away or Clump Point boat ramp is a 15-minute drive. South Mission Beach is the closest access point for Dunk Island and the Family Group of Islands, with the Great Barrier Reef beyond. Guests can park boats at the boat ramp or along the Esplanade, where there is copious parking along the beach foreshore. South Mission Beach is a great location for you to holiday at lazing under the trees on the beach as you gaze out to Dunk Island is a treat. If you are boating enthusiast, you have a choice of 2 boat ramps. There is the beach boat ramp at the end of Kennedy Esplanade or the Hull River boat ramp offering a pontoon for you to tie up to. Not wishing to cook... Mission Thai is just down the road... dine in or a take away dinner and dine on your balcony enjoying your surrounds. You may also like to enjoy a relaxed meal at Tuskers at the Surf Club or Beachcomber Café. Woolworths Supermarket at Wongaling Beach is just a 5 - 10 min drive. The quaint shopping village of Mission Beach is just 10-15 minutes drive and offers a selection of cafes, restaurants, bars. There is also Lenny’s Local Fruit & Vegetable store and a great mini mart as well as a specialty baker/foodstore. You will be tempted at Helen Wiltshire Gallery or one of the fashion or gift stores. The new swimming pool is located at Mission Beach including a hydrotherapy pool. The “Dunk and Splash” water play pad is on the foreshore of Wongaling Beach. The first and third Sunday of each month there a markets in the Ulysses park at Mission Beach. The Mission Beach Monster Markets are held on the last Sunday of each month from Easter Sunday until November. During the stinger months (November to May) there is a stinger enclosure at South Mission Beach It is recommended to have a car when staying at South Mission Beach. Another option available is hiring a push bike. This is a great way to get out and about Mission Beach. Riding along the beach is a real treat.
