About this property

68 McIndoe - utterly gorgeous gem in Venus Bay

This utterly gorgeous property is a true gem in Venus Bay. The custom-built, architecturally-designed two-storey home is constructed from repurposed shipping containers. The tasteful attention to detail inside is captivating and quirky, with the eye-popping use of colour complimented by the warm, homey feel of the house. Close to Venus Bay's Number 5 Beach, this home is the perfect spot for an unforgettable coastal getaway for couples or small families.

The house has a uniquely distinctive style, equal parts retro and modernist. The featured artworks and use of colour palettes are distinctly modern, but beautiful retro fittings are found throughout, including the handsome spiral staircase to the upper level, the chandelier-style light fittings, the clawfoot bathtub and the beautiful leadlight-panelled doors. The downstairs area features open-plan living, kitchen and dining, along with a separate toilet and bathroom, whilst the two bedrooms are found upstairs. The bedrooms sleep two guests each, whilst the separate downstairs "nook" where the TV is located features a fold-out sofa bed that can sleep an additional two guests.

Unwind in front of the fire in winter with a glass of red and a good book from the extensive collection featured in the bookshelf. If reading isn't your thing, then kick back and relax to one of the many CDs featured by the stereo. If you are staying in summer, you can rest assured you will also be in complete comfort, with a split-system servicing the downstairs area of the house along with one in each of the bedrooms upstairs.

A generous verandah is also featured, with outdoor setting and a delightful succulent garden providing further character - the perfect place to sit back, cook up a BBQ, crack a cold beer and enjoy the Gippsland sunset.
