We had a wonderful stay at Casa Mila! The house itself was beautiful, and the layout was perfect for our family. The kids especially loved having their own bathrooms, which made things so much easier. The air conditioning was a lifesaver at night, as it was very hot during our stay. One of the highlights was definitely the pool—we used it every day and really enjoyed having that space to relax. The location was also fantastic; we could walk everywhere, which made exploring the area super convenient.Jacki was an amazing host. She was always quick to answer any questions we had and even dropped off some water for us ahead of a planned power outage, which was greatly appreciated. If we had to suggest anything, a few more hooks for hanging wet towels would have been helpful, but we made do. The house was very clean overall, though we did notice that some dishes in the cabinets could have been washed better—not a big deal, but worth mentioning.
Great spot to station yourself while exploring the surrounding beaches of Samara!. Short walk to Samara beach but if you want to do a little beach hopping, only r a short drive away, to Playa Carrillo, Buena Vista Beaches . Groceries , Boulangerie bakery with fantastic French pastries , breads , 5 minute walk. Communication with property manager seamless, all of our questions answered quickly; you won't be disappointed with this gem in Samara .
Good stuff: pool area is very nice. Interior furnishing are fine. Excellent communication from the host. Beds are comfy. Ok stuff: this house is right next to another house and directly across the street from some larger rental houses. So, if you want to have the windows open for ventilation, it's a bit of a fish bowl. If you have all the blinds shut, it's a bit stuffy. If the neighbors are out enjoying their pool, you can hear everything they say and visa versa. Which is alright but just know this isn't some quiet spot in the country. All in all, the place is priced very fairly but it definitely lacks the outdoor living with nature vibe I've had every else in Costa Rica. It's a short walk to an excellent bakery but the walk to the beach is a long way in the tropical heat and very busy with quads and cars the whole way. I wouldn't stay here without some type of vehicle to get out of the neighborhood.
We killed 14 cockroaches. There was an ant problem & had to buy ant killer. No toilet paper was supplied as advertised. No wash machine was on site, but was advertised when we booked. Hot tub is advertised, but not there. No one greeted us as was messaged to us. Poorly supplied utensils in kitchen, poorly supplied kitchen all together. House was advertised as new, but is not new. House needs a lot of maintenance, back patio door lock falling off. Two AC units either do not work, or work poorly. Had a major plumbing leak twice. Counter stools all needed repair. Outdoor lights around pool do not work, so we asked for light bulbs, received two, but needed eight. Would never stay at a property again with this owner or property manager.
Samara is truly a great place to visit, very laid back with a beautiful beach. Casa Mila was in a great spot, just a short walking distance to the beach. The house itself was great. The property host was super helpful with recommendations.

Our family of 4 adults visited Samara for our first time. We loved this accommodation as it was close walking distance to everything we wanted but far enough to enjoy the feel of living in a neighborhood 😊 We all had our own bedrooms (3) and bathroom (3). Our host was easily contacted and responded quickly. We recommend this accommodation as a great choice when visiting beautiful Samara
Casa Mila was a great last stop on our Costa Rican trip. The location had an isolated feel to it but is a short walk to downtown Samara and the beach. The pool is amazing and the kids were lucky to each have their own room. The place was a perfect rest from the beach when we needed it. The place is a perfect setup to enjoy Samara and well thought through. Lots of wildlife in the area and saw howler monkeys and iguanas on our walks to and from town. Jacquie was very helpful with any questions we had. Highly recommend!
The home was perfect for our family of 4. The kids loved the pool. It’s walking distance from town but far enough away you have lots of peace and quiet. We loved our time here and would definitely stay again. The host was amazing and so helpful in getting tours scheduled and providing recommendations.
Six of us stayed here, so having three bedrooms and three bathrooms, all relatively spacious (especially the master suite) was a big plus. You have to walk through one of the two bedrooms facing the pool to get to the pool, but that wasn't a problem. Grocery stores, restaurants and the beach were within easy walking distance and Jacquie was always available to answer questions and to set up our stay.
We did eat at the house fairly often and could have used more silverware, bowls, water glasses and chairs at the dining room table (there were four, with two apparently broken and stored elsewhere). More hooks in the bathroom also would have been convenient, and maybe a small lamp in the living room (the overhead lights were really bright so we didn't have them on much). But most issues were easily overcome. The pool was kept clean and full. Jacquie gave us a heads-up before the power was off for eight hours in Samara so we could plan an out-of-town excursion for the day.
We spent nine days in Samara and found plenty to do every day, whether it was an early morning beach walk, shopping at the Saturday farmers market or taking a sunset cruise. The house provided a comfortable and convenient base for these activities and more (surfing, anyone?). Just make sure Jacquie sends you her video on how to find the house -- several of the drivers we hired never would have found us otherwise! We greatly enjoyed our visit to Samara and the people we met there.
Wonderful accommodations 10 minutes from town (walking) easy access fruit markets, bakery and grocery stores. Howler monkey viewing every morning just down the road.
It was our first time in Costa Rica and was a great introduction to the country. Our host was amazing, vary accommodating to all our request and best of all very knowledgeable of area and country
Great house! Walking distance to downtown. Very quiet neighborhood. We could watch the monkeys & exotic birds in the trees most mornings and evenings. We will definitely stay here again!!
Beautiful home, great location and access to restaurants and beach( about 10 minute walk). Great communication from Jackie. There are a few things that needs attention such as broken lounge chairs around pool, would be nice to have hooks in bathrooms for towels and sliding door in second bedroom needs to be tightened.

Modern Oasis
This is a modern oasis with a sweet pool and comfortable air conditioned bedrooms. The host was very welcoming and even agreed to stock the fridge with food for our arrival on Christmas Day. Thank you!
The only drawback is that the neighborhood is under active construction across the street and on several blocks around the house on the walk to the beach. In a few years it will be a different neighborhood!
I kept our family vacation to Sámara as simple as possible bc we’d just finished a very busy school year. The house was very nice and provided all the space we needed. The house manager was extremely prompt with her responses and our after dark check-in (in the middle of a thunderstorm) was made very easy because she sent us a video of exactly how to drive into town and reach the house. We felt very safe at the house and truly relished the private pool all week.
We wanted to immerse ourselves in CR culture as much as we could so we chose a house in a local neighborhood and walking distance to downtown. (Albeit the house is not the style of house the locals call home and is indeed very fancy). The walk into town and to beach was very easy. We preferred to grocery shop at Palí and the local fruit/veggie stands. Our favorite meals were at La Perla Soda at the north end of the beach. We always chose the casados, and the gelato at Sweet Dreams was delicious as well. We attended church at Sámara Bible Church and received a very warm welcome from everyone there.
There were a few imperfections, but nothing major. Keep in mind we stayed in the middle of the jungle and had every luxury we needed! The washer and dryer are not operational, so don’t expect to do laundry and the showers in the guest bedrooms did not have any hot water. There was a small leak in the ceiling of the living during a gully washer, but no other time and the manager was very responsive when I told her.

Super nice comfortable place. Quiet and secluded back yard and pool. Owners are very nice. Our contact in Samara, Jacquie, was very nice and always just a text away with anything we needed or advice on things to do or places to go.
We had a great time. Thanks :)
