Private Waterfront Getaway on Townsend Lake

Unwind at our peaceful waterfront home on the quiet calm Townsend Lake. An inviting open concept main floor with tons of natural light opens to large cedar decks and a clear shallow shoreline. Lots of water fun to be had in this protected and safe lake with golf, hiking and waterfalls galore all nearby. Winter brings skating and snowshoeing on site with OFSC and XC ski trails as well as Beaver Valley Ski Club all close by. Your stay includes use of our large outdoor firepit, kayak, Sup x 2, canoe, pedal boat, Lily Pad, BBQ, unlimited streaming quality WIFI, Apple TV, and much more. Please note the 7 person/4 adult maximum for all stays.

The property was clean and comfortable The host Joel was exceptionally helpful. The kitchen was equipped with a variety of appliances. Their property was very well stocked with games and water activities. The experience was a delightful family trip. It was perfectly set up for a family adventure We would book again in a heartbeat

We had a wonderful stay. The property was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we were looking for for a long weekend getaway! There were a lot of amenities we didn't get to take advantage of (like the boats), but that we look forward to next time. The sauna is awesome touch. Joel was very kind and quick to respond to messages, especially after we accidentally left something behind. He was helpful and easy to work with, and we were able to problem-solve retrieving it. Would definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic stay! Joel was an excellent host — he responded quickly to all messages and graciously allowed us to check in early with a winter storm approaching, which we truly appreciated.The cottage was spotless, very well equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were there for Family Day weekend and snowmobiling, the location was perfect — close to incredible trails. The views were absolutely priceless. Clean, well stocked and great outdoor space

We had a great mini escape, the house is clean and has everything you would need to cook a couple meals, watch some tv before bed, but the best part is the huge yard and water access. We had a blast with the kayak and canoe, and our dog had a great time splashing around the water.

Hidden Gem

We stayed with 2 children under 10 and it was perfect. Cottage is clean and comfortable with lots of outdoor activities available. The kids even caught their first fish off the dock! Host was very responsive and accommodating as well. Would definitely go again!

Fantastic spot

Had a wonderful 1 week, stay at this cottage. Many great memories were made, water was not to deep, resulting in stress free exciteent for dogs and kids. Used the Paddle boards, paddle boat, etc, with ease and was in great condition, with life jackets and such available. It was great E

Great Time

The stay was great. We enjoyed the lake and paddle boards and fishing in the canoe. The location is quiet and near some small towns. Went to Hogg Falls, a short drive from the cottage. Everything you need was in the cottage for your stay. It is clean and the view is lovely. Will return!

Charming place for a getaway

Perfect place to hang out for a few days. Nice set up, well looked after and well appointed with a great relaxing view of the lake. Fully on the water, but it’s December so we were content with just the views. Host was easy to communicate with and all in all an easy recommendation.

Family fun at this cottage

Enjoyed the accommodations. Nice having the watercraft since it’s a shallow lake. Good sized yard to do games. Had campfire pit. Pretty well everything we needed in the cottage including bedding and towels and tv/internet while Olympics were on.

Stay at Markdale cottage

We had a really wonderful experience at this cottage. It faces the waterfront and the area is very quiet and prestine. There is lots of water activities that comes with the cottage and many board games at the house to keep you entertained throughout your stay. Joel provided detailed instructions to help us plan our trip and was easy to communicate with throughout the process. I would definitely recommend the place to my friends and family.
