Convenient Getaway

We were on a family vacation in OKC. This house was the perfect location. We were within 15 minutes of anywhere we needed to get to. It was very close to the interstate but you wouldn’t know it. This house was perfect for our stay. We had plenty of space and we all loved the pool. It was also great to have a garage to park our car in especially with the heat. We also had great communication with Carol before and during our stay.

Pros:-Good location, including less than a mile to Lake Hefner-Shopping and restaurants near-Clean-Inside renovation and decor- office space in master bedroom- bed set up good for our group- parking, including use of garage (we didn’t use)- considering this is right off the highway, it was very quietOpportunities:- Outside- Pool not available. Had “organic matter” in it. Really looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. We were notified the night before. Clearly this was not a night before issue.- grill needs to be replaced- patio area older- slider to patio not workingThe owner checked in once. I gave feedback and heard nothing additional , including at the end when we thought my son left something behind. Overall, it met our basic needs.

Perfect for our group

This property was perfect for our group. After the hotel we have used for years was sold, prior to our event, our reservations were canceled. I was scrambling to find someplace that could accommodate us. Very few hotels had suites, so we knew we were going to need more rooms. As I was searching, I decided to look at VRBO. I stumbled across this property, and with one room that could hold six individuals, I realized it was the perfect space for us. On our team we have six boys and one girl. The room for six was perfect for our boys, and since the girl is the daughter of one of the coaches she was able to share our room with her mother. Our other coach and her husband (who came as a chaperone for the boys), fit perfectly in the third room. We were able to have a practice in the living room, due to the large number of chairs available in the home. Some people on here have complained about the pool. As someone who owns a pool, I was not shocked. The way the pool looked is simply the way a pool looks when it does not have a cover and has not been set up for use in the spring or summer. This would be an absolutely lovely place to stay if you don't have high expectations for the pool before it is set up. I think if you have hopes of the pool being set up, and it's not, you would be disappointed in that, however, for the price of staying here, I found it to be a bargain for ten people, especially to be able to get it on short notice. venueto us.

THE GOOD:- Location is good. Very accessible part of the city with access to Edmond, Lake Hefner, and only 20 min to downtown. - The pool was nice overall. The water was clean and clear. - The ease check in and check out were great. - The kitchen did have some basic utensils and cookware. THE BAD:- The house is fairly dated. - It had an odor when we first arrived that was “stale”. - The furniture in the living room is apartment sized, not near enough seating for a 3 bedroom house that sleeps 8. - The sliding glass door needs a repair or new guides. It sounds like it is falling apart when you open it. It’s very loud. THE UGLY:- the lawn was extremely overgrown. I messaged the contact and was told that someone would be coming. They never did. Around the pool area, the landscaping was terribly overgrown. Knee high grass or worse in all flowerbeds. It ruined the possibility of relaxation, because I can’t relax with grass that looks like that, and the overgrown gardens were home to tons of mosquitos. - the hallway bathroom is very outdated, and the tub doesn’t drain well. When you shower, it fills up 8” of dirty shower water that you stand in. And if you have a group of people waiting on showers, they have to wait 15 min for the tub to drain before getting in. Again, I texted and was told that a plumber would come, that did not happen. It appeared to me that this property needs some TLC and general / regularly scheduled maintenance and upkeep. The lack of initiative and speediness by the property managers was very disappointing. Neither of the issues we had, that were communicated, were rectified during our visit. We were there for 5 days and neither issue was addressed. Based on this experience, I would not stay here again, and I would not recommend this property to others.

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to clarify the following: – Our home is designed to offer a quiet and peaceful stay. While the door can be knocked off track if handled forcefully, it’s now realigned and working properly. We kindly ask guests to handle it gently to help keep it on track. – The listing photos accurately depict the furniture, so guests can get a clear sense of the layout and seating before booking. – Once we heard from you about the lawn, we immediately contacted our landscaping company, and they arrived as soon as their schedule allowed. – A plumber has since addressed the slow-draining tub and discovered a bottle cap blocking the drain, which has now been cleared. The homeowner takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for guests. We’ll continue working together to provide a positive experience for all future visitors.

The homeowner was alerted to a serious leak in the house just before your stay, which wouldn't have allowed you to enjoy the property and wouldn't have met Evolve’s 4 Core Property Standards. We communicated this as soon as we were made aware. Unfortunately, this left the owner in an impossible situation, and canceling your stay with a full refund was the only option. The leak has been fully fixed, and the property has been reopened to host guests. Thanks for your understanding.
