Sharp, crisp, open. The Wolf Den hides its glory when you pull into the lake house drive. It appears to be an unassuming home with a cute front porch-- and then you walk into the home! You don't need to travel far north to capture the Up North feel at The Wolf Den. The knotty pine captures that essence. The kitchen is large and open, with a nice amount of counter space, where you will be able to cook without bumping into each other. The coffee bar is tucked in an alcove of the kitchen. You can dine in the bar-like seating and have a cup of coffee for two (2), or sit together with a larger group off the living room at the dining room table.
The four (4) bedrooms are all tastefully decorated with simple pastels which feel warm and peaceful as you move about your stay. The Master Bedroom even has a California King bed. The other three (3) bedrooms all have Queen beds. The two (2) bathrooms are of comfortable size with recent renovations. Your laundry needs are also easy to meet with the washer/dryer laundry room.
The deck facing the water provides plenty of space too. It's an idyllic setting to capture all four seasons as you are surrounded by trees are mesmerized by the fall colors, peaceful lakefront in the summer, watch the snow, or the melting of the ice in the spring. The views here will always capture you, especially if you are soaking in a hot tub while taking them in!
It's a joy to be able to bring your special, four-legged friend(s) and enjoy the shared swimming space as you soak in those fabulous memories together. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Over all our stay was great! We enjoyed the views from the living area and deck. Communication with the host is good. We did find a weird sticky spot on one of the bed comforters but other than that the house was clean.

Rooms ample, glad the sectional had reclining seating as One needed that for sleeping. Like the open room concept. Had issues with finding it, signage needs upgrading.
The property was spacious and exactly what we were looking for when we booked our trip!

Family wedding near South Haven where the 7 of us and two dogs could spread out and relax. The Wolf’s Den is ideal as an oasis of calm, relaxed family time. The house is meticulously clean, the WiFi is strong and the neighborhood is quiet.

The house was great overall. Very cozy and clean.I just wish there was a bench or a dresser in each room to put our stuff. Even a luggage rack for the suitcases to get them off the floor. We lived out of our suitcases on the floor,....not my favorite. But otherwise, the house was good and hot tub was great!

Overall we were highly satisfied and had a very comforting and welcoming stay! Peaceful and pleasant by the water with backyard hot tub experience. We were a bit hesitate on the walk up into the house with little lighting from the parking and would like to recommend some solar lights and/or outside sensor lights to accommodate. Outside of that we extremely enjoyed our stay at the "Wolf Den"!!! Thank you for treating us with your hospitality of the place and cleanliness. Have a blessed day!

James, we’re so glad you and your cousins had a comforting and enjoyable stay at the Wolf Den. We appreciate your feedback regarding the lighting on the walkway. Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another memorable getaway! -Van FVR
Overall the house was in good shape and clean. Very nice decor and furniture. The front and back decks were great. For larger groups would need your own chairs though. The furniture only accommodates 4-5 people.
The dining table only had 6 chairs but could accommodate 8. No options available for additional seating at the house.
Bedrooms were large but no dressers available.
The raised decks in the front and back are dangerous if you don’t watch when you’re walking. A different color or a stripe at the edge would be helpful.
Overall, we enjoyed the house and was very pleased.

Underwhelming
The property was not as secluded as we were led to believe in pictures. The porch and deck looked as though they had not been swept in a year. The hot tub was dirty and never kept the appropriate temperature. When called to fix it they sent us a YouTube tutorial! The smoke detector needed batteries! It was beeping as soon as we walked in. Lake access was a small overgrown patch a few houses down. And the internet was spotty at best. No dishwasher as advertised. And the window unit air conditioner was not installed making the 80 degree days a little warm. Not exactly a dream vacation spot. We left early!

Response from VrboOwner on 26 June 2023
We sincerely appreciate your feedback, even though it is challenging to hear.
While we never intended to represent the property as secluded, I can see that by focusing on the most lush views of the lake and it's surroundings, it gave the perspective of seclusion. I apolgize.
Still, I can assure you that it has not been "a year" since the deck was last swept. Since there was a week gap between the guest departing and your arrival, ideally, we should have had the deck re-swept prior to your arrival.
The hot tub is a salt water hot tub, so it may look a bit more cloudy than a freshwater hot tub. If you had let us know you felt it was dirty, we could have had it recleaned for you. Per the communication with Candie and Steve, they were under the impression the only issue with the hot tub was the temperature not rising as fast as you were hoping.
Nonetheless, I do apologize. My maintenance department made a mistake in not sending someone over to you to work with you 1:1 vs. sending what they thought was a helpful video. As the hot tub temp was raising, we were attempting to communicate with you on a regular basis thoughout your stay to confirm the hot tub temp was to your liking.
The smoke detector batteries were not chirping when the inspection was completed prior to your arrival. Again, if we had known during your stay, we would have sent someone over to replace them for you.
You are correct. We do not advertise a dishwasher, nor do we have one at the property. I have added that to our list of future wishes for this property.
When it comes to technology, we try to avoid the glitches, yet they can be inevitable at times. We have a T-Mobile cellular internet hotspot at the cottage. While most people have had a positive internet experience, the bandwidth does indeed get truncated when there are multiple people using the system.
Finally, there was one window-unit air conditioner installed by the propety owner, prior to your stay. We now have three (3) window-unit air conditioners installed at the home.
Overall, I'm truly sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience at one of our properties. I'm hoping you may consider giving us another opportunity to host you in the future. Your feedback will assist us in improving the experience for future guest.
Sincerely,
Cara
