Orwell Cottage

This was the first time we have ever rented on Vrbo and I admit i was nervous at first. However, Jocelyn sent my mind at ease and answered all my questions and was there through every concern i had. The unit was clean and very comfortable. I was impressed that anything i may have forgotten or needed was there. Jocelyn has thought of everything a traveller may need while away. The location was perfect for us. We spent time in a variety of areas on the island and never once felt like we were isolated from the locations we visited. The location was quiet and beautiful. The night sky with all the stars was amazing. The unit was

Privacy & pests

the spot was great and host seemed lovely but it was bit odd that she returned to the house on one day and put he things in the fridge during our stay and removed one of the bedroom fans. My expectation would be that the host not be in the house during the rental unless there was a problem. There were also several earwigs found in the house while we were there.

Great location, beautiful place, good host

The location is a beautiful and comfortable home located in the countryside but within 30 minutes of downtown. It worked wonderfully to explore both the eastern and central areas of the Island. The host personally came to greet us and lives nearby so can assist with any matters. House rules are pretty standard but guests are requested to not run the AC at night, instead sleeping with windows open. Also asked to help care for the indoor plants (3dz).

Relaxing breakfasts on the porch at this lovely home.

Overall, this was a nice place to stay. My partner and I enjoyed sitting on the front porch each morning to have breakfast and coffee. Jocelyn, the host, went above and beyond with her communication and willingness to help with anything. She left plenty of pamphlets and information for things to do and see around the Island. She even had a recommendation for a local Southern style BBQ place that we both enjoyed. The property is located in a quiet country area and is well located to access Charlottetown. The property is well cared for with beautiful landscaping. We both would consider staying there again.

Cozy, comfortable & peaceful retreat

Our family of 4 (kids ages 10 & 14) spent 3 nights in this gem of a home in July 2023. It was such a welcome reprieve from hotels & restaurants at the midway point on a 2 week trip. It was clearly a well-loved, well-equipped, well-stocked home (not a sterile rental) with lots of plants, artwork, movies to watch, and cozy spots to hang out including the lovely grove of trees beside the home. My daughter loved reading her book out there among the fairy lights & trees. It was so quiet & peaceful. The master bed was a little softer than I prefer but I still slept great. Probably the fresh air & peaceful environment! Although it was in a rural area, it was very easy to get around PEI from here. The home was close to the highway so it didn’t take us long to hop over to Charlottetown or head towards the north shore. It’s quite close to the Woods Island ferry for those coming that way. Due to ferry shutdown, we had to take the Confederation Bridge there and back which added about 1hr 15 min drive time each way. Jocelyn was an excellent & generous host from the moment we booked with her - quick to reply to questions, came to greet us & show us around after we had checked in, dropped off some delicious steaks & fresh strawberries for dinner, provided lots of info about the area. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a comfortable home base to visit PEI.
