Beautiful Luxury Cottage in South Iceland in a perfect locations, new renovation

The cottage is amazing and one of the most impressive host facility in the country side in Iceland. It is in a beautiful spot and very well situated cottage with graet view, located near many interesting sites for example mount Hekla, Eyjafjallajökull which you can see out of the window in the house. Vatnajökull glacier, Þórsmörk, Gullfoss, Geysir and Vestman Island.

We closed the house in 2024 as we decided to renovate everything, electricity, kitchen, bathroom etc.

Approx. one hour drive from Reykjavik

House is very close to Hella 5 minutes away after you drive through Hella.
The country house is 150 m2 with an outside hot tub for 8 to people.

The cottage can accommodate 12 persons. 2 master bedrooms 1 queen size bed and 3 bedrooms with two single beds.

The kitchen includes all required equipment, refrigerator, kitchen stove with oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, coffee machines, mixer and toaster. Kitchenware is for total over 20 persons.

There are 2 bathrooms, with shower.

In 2024 we decided to do completely renovation the entire house. New bathrooms, new kitchen. We renewed all the electricity. New floors and walls in hole house. We are very happy with the result, and it was worth it.

• The cottage is located in the so called Golden circle area.

• An 18 hole golf course is just 5 minutes drive away.

• Many fishing rivers are nearby.

• The cottage and the surrounding area is very family friendly.

• The cottage is approx. one hours drive from Reykjavik.
The cottage is ideal for both summer and winter vacation. Summer time for 24 hour daylight and winter time for Northern Lights.
The atmosphere is very peaceful and you are in touch with nature and the surrounding landscape. From the living room you can see Mount Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull.

It is very relaxing to come our house after a long strong day and and relax go in to the hot tub and in the winter time if you are lucky you can see the Northern Lights dancing over the house and in the summer enjoy the brightness and nature.
In the winter it is nothing that beats lying in the hot tub watching the stars and if you are lucky you can see the Northern Lights.

This is a perfect house for a large family or friends to stay in.

This is a great house! Great views, plenty of space, nice kitchen, large sitting room. We've stayed here before, and are looking forward to staying again. A perfect place for large groups.

We loved our stay here. Great access to so many things, and Soffia was great about giving us a lot of information. The short walk to the waterfall right behind the house was great too! And the kitchen had everything.

The house is perfect for a family stay. The view is spectacular. We were able to see the Northern Lights from the back porch four nights! Wonderful spot for a visit to Iceland

This home is beautifully located and very well appointed. The owners are responsive and helpful. The home is well maintained and amply and thoughtfully stocked with every item needed for a stay. The beds were comfortable. It is remote enough to see the northern lights (3 times during our stay!) and yet close enough for day trips to south coast, golden triangle, and Reykjavik. We were so fortunate to be able to stay here.

Amazing views, wonderful house

I stayed here with a large group of extended family and kids and we loved the house. Convenient to lots of sights in south Iceland but also comfortable enough to take the day off and relax in. Laundry was a huge plus as was the incredibly well stocked kitchen. The view from the deck was outstanding. The grocery store in Hella was easy to get to and had most everything you could need.

This home was above and beyond in every way for our family. From the start, Soffia was amazing about communicating, answering questions and offering advice & insight. The house is so comfortable, beautifully decorated, and the view is amazing. It also has the best stocked kitchen I’ve ever had in a VRBO. We absolutely loved staying there and wished we had more vacation time to spend.

Perfect for large groups

I was traveling with extended family in a group of 9 adults and worried about finding a house large enough for all of us. I should not have been worried; Soffia's house in Hella was absolutely perfect! It is spacious enough for large groups. We could have had several more in our group and still been comfortable!

Beautiful setting; great location for visiting southern coastline attractions. Remarkably well stocked kitchen with spices, paper products, cleaning supplies, glassware, dishes, flatware, cooking utensils, etc. Beautiful deck, nice hot tub. Served our family of 12 well. Only shortcomings were lack of space to store food. We were 6 kids and 6 adults -- therefore we did most of our cooking at the house to be cost effective. We arrived with lots and lots of groceries and no place to store them to avoid clutter and still have cooking prep space. An icemaker would have been nice addition. Loved having washer and dryer on site. Communal gathering area was a bit small for our group, but beautiful dining table for 12 all together was wonderful.

Our family of 6 loved staying here! We took day trips to the southern locations of Iceland and it was convenient, comfortable and roomy. Our hosts were super available for questions. Absolute comfort and beautiful property. Any questions asked, the host was extremely timely in responding. The neighboring horses greeted us at the fence. Local favorite restaurants were Eldsto and Strond. We had very personal experiences with each place! Highly recommend this rental.

Incredible way to conclude our journey around Iceland!

Amazing property, gorgeous house, very special secluded location, very private. We loved the way the house was furnished and well-stocked with just about everything imaginable. After journeying around Iceland, the only thing missing was a view of the Northern Lights and this property DELIVERED! Around midnight the night before our flight home, we all experienced the Aurora in full glory. Soffia is the consummate host, thorough and helpful throughout the process. Terrific Golden Circle home base for families

This was our very first time in Iceland, and Soffia's place was perfect - even a bit large for our party of 6. Our host was very responsive even emailing back and forth with us during our stay which we were quite appreciative of. The house is in a perfect location close to Hella and within easy day trips of most attractions throughout the Golden Circle. The house itself is on a very secluded road, very private, with horses and sheep coming round the house regularly, which was quite exciting for us! On clear days we had fantastic views of Mt. Hekla. I'd highly recommend this place for any larger group looking for a perfect home base from which to explore!

Just brilliant!

10 of us visited at the beginning of November for the 40th birthday of a friend. The house is even better in reality than the photographs suggest. Furnished and equipped to the highest standard in every aspect. We especially enjoyed the large communal lounge, dining and kitchen area. Soffia was very pleasant to deal with and keen to offer any help with planning or questions we had. The location is incredible; fantastic views and very serene. We saw the Northern Lights on one evening which truly capped a wonderful stay. If this property suits the size of your party then book it without reservation; you will not regret it for a moment!

Beautiful house located in a great location and excellent surroundings. It is so good to come to the house after long drive, walk, golfing , horseback riding
and so on go to the privet hot tub and relax

What makes this property unique

The atmosphere is very peaceful and you are in touch with nature and the surrounding landscape. From the living room you can see Mount Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull.

This is a perfect house for a large family or friends to stay in.

Near by the house are few horse rentals. I highly recommend the swimming pool in Hella it has few hot tubs, sauna and slide for children.
