Why they chose this property
The parc is situated in"Le Parc Régional Périgord-Charente -Limousin". Located in the Charente, a beautiful, unspoiled, lush area with fields full of sunflowers and lots of vineyards. It is brought to life by a network of meandering rivers. The village life in the Charente is fantastic: There are markets in the Spring, bric a brac, and in the Summer village fêtes with moules frites (mussels and chips). Angoulême is the capital of the Charente , a beautifull city with an old cityhall and Cathédral. Cognac, well known
for its spirit, is also within an hour's drive. You can tour and visit the different houses here.
While in the Charente, you are also within 5 minute's drive from the Dordogne where you can go to the market in Piégut on Wednesday. Further away you will find the most picturesque place that you could every wish to visit, Brantôme. Perigueux, the capital of the Dordogne, is also well worth
visiting.
In the Limousin you will find Limoges at an hour's drive, known for its Porcelain and good food.
We are on to the Richard the Lionheart route for a great day out!
Of historic interest is the village of Ouradour sur Glane, which was burnt down completely during WW2. The memerial for the resistance in Chasseneuil is impressive. As well as Chassenon where you will find Roman baths.
