Summary:
The Braddock House was inspired by British Army General Edward Braddock, Commander-in-chief- of the American Colonies during the early stages of the French-Indian War (1754-1763). George Washington served as a volunteer officer in Braddock's command and carried a mortally wounded Braddock off a Pennsylvania battlefield in 1755.

The Space:
Three level town house comprising of 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths with a total of 2235 sqft. On the main level one will find a large kitchen with a kitchen table that seats 4, dinning room seats 12, half bath, living room with 2 sofas and a Roku TV, and access to the parking and back patio. The third floor contains the master bedroom with a loft. It has a desk, printer, full size sofa, Roku TV 65 in, master bath, and a King size bed in the loft. The second bedroom is large, has cathedral ceiling, and has a King size bed. The Third bedroom consist of a Queen size bed. A full size bathroom is located in the hall. Located in the basement is the 4th bedroom with 2 twin size bunks beds, the third full size bathroom with a stand up shower, family room with a double size pull out sofa, love seat, a small table that seats 4, 65 in Roku TV, and full size washer and dryers.

In the heart of Old Town Alexandria!! Walk to restaurants, shops and the metro. It's even an easy stroll to Del Ray.

Getting Around:
Walking Score of 97!! No need for a car. Walk to all your favorite restaurants, grocery store, and shops. Braddock Metro is across the street from the property. Easy metro or Taxi ride to Reagan International Airport, Washington DC and National Harbor.

Girls getaway on Old Town Alexandria

Our group of 8 ladies stayed at Desiree's home and we had a super time. Great location, fully stocked, clean, decorated beautifully and exactly how the home was described. We would certainly recommend this property to friends traveling to Alexandria.

Fantastic ladies weekend!

We enjoyed our stay in this spacious townhouse minutes from charming Old Town. Ubers and Door Dash are plentiful and our host was incredibly attentive. Comfortable beds, lovely sheets and plenty of towels. The host went above and beyond to ensure our stay was fantastic.

Wonderful property located in close proximity to the Blue/Yellow lines and Old Town Alexandria. Great local restaurants and shopping, plus easy access to Reagan National Airport and DC landmarks via the metro. Beautiful house with ample room for large groups.

Other than a few minor items (low water pressure, bunk beds are more for kids than adults, railing at front door steps was unsteady) we had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed the house! The property manager was truly wonderful and easy to work with prior to and during the stay. This house would be on my list if we are in the area again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Braddock House! There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and also to eat together. Location and proximity to the Metro, restaurants and shops was ideal. Family Fun for Spring Break

We had 12 people.....8 kids ans 4 adults and had the BEST time for 6 days in DC. This house was great and great location to metro and great shopping and cute restaurants in Arlington. Highly recommend. We loved the cozy house vibe, bunk beds and finished basement and loft area. Plenty of space to sleep and relax even with a large group!

Great location

We loved this location. It was close to the metro and made getting into DC such a simple task. Downtown Alexandria was less than a mile walk. A grocery store around six blocks away made shopping convenient. The property is cute but could use new carpet and cooking pans. Communication with the host was fantastic. We would stay here again.

Family Celebration

This home was the perfect size for our group of 11, 5 adults and 6 children. Everyone’s sleeping arrangements were comfortable and the location was super convenient. We really appreciated the short walk home after a full day of sightseeing. The large dining room was especially great for eating together. Parking 2 cars on sight was not a problem either. Great trip with middle schoolers

This place was perfect, exactly as described and exactly what we needed. We had a group of 8 and there was more than enough room for us to spread out at the end of the day and get some separation after long days running around the museums and monuments. The metro is across the street along with a Mexican restaurant. It’s a short walk to a pizza place as well. Would gladly stay here again if I needed to house a similar group. Very easy and responsive communication with the host.

Fantastic House and Great Owner

We stayed at this house while visiting the Capital and the Smithsonian and enjoyed the stay. The location is directly across from the Metro Station, giving easy access to the center of DC. A beautiful kitchen and dining room make it easy to have a meal in. There is also 7-11, a Mexican restaurant, and a wood-fired pizza place just around the corner. The owner was lovely and very responsive when we had questions. The back-off-street parking is also larger than most D.C. locations and (barely) fits a large van, which is a significant plus. This is probably my favorite place, and I have stayed in D.C. on many trips.

Conveniently located, perfectly appointed!

This property is absolutely the best VRBO we have stayed at - if we’re ever in the area again, we will definitely be back! The location couldn’t be any more conveniently located - metro (Braddock station on yellow and blue line) is literally out your front door, but just far enough away that you don’t hear the trains, restaurants are within easy walking distance, and when I realized I forgot my deodorant at home, there were several easy choices for grocery stores within walking or driving distance (Target was a 10 minute or less drive). The home itself was clean, well decorated, and had so many small touches that other property owners don’t really think of - coffee/creamer supply, spices, INCREDIBLE game room, etc…). The mattresses were very comfortable (it can be hit or miss with vrbo)and the duvet in the loft king room was the softest I have ever seen in a property - so much so that I had to snoop at the tag to see the brand!

Wonderful Home, Perfect Location!

The Braddock House was the perfect spot for our family vacation to Alexandria/DC. Our group consisted of 3 families, all with children ages 4-11, and was just the right amount of space for us to feel together, without being on top of one another. The home was clean and ready upon arrival, and the property manager was so kind going the extra mile to accommodate an earlier check-in time. I can't say enough how helpful that small detail is when traveling with young kids (and lots of bags)! I can't say enough about the location...one block from the metro (which made getting around DC both easy and inexpensive), and a short 10 minute walk to all the hot spots in Old Town (including the free King Street Trolley, which takes you all the way to the Alexandria waterfront). I would 100% recommend this home...you won't regret it!

Good Location, Good for Kids

This property was in a great location for my family and I. It is really close to the metro to take into the city and close to King Street. You do not need to worry about train noise, our little ones were perfectly fine. We ended up driving everywhere and it was still only a 15 minute drive to the Wharf area which was convenient. There are baby gates at each stairwell, which was nice with little ones. The master is very spacious as well as the other king bed room. The host allowed us to check in early which was a huge plus for us since we were traveling with kids. We came with two vehicles. There was room for one vehicle in a designated spot and then there was a spot which required a pass for the other. Multiple passes were provided by the host, so that was no problem at all.

Owner had not paid his water bill

And the property manager failed to know this. Four of us seniors, after a long day traveling, had no water when we got to the house. It was not turned on until the next morning, when we'd already gone to bed without water to wash hands, shower, or flush. I'm still waiting to receive the half of first nights refund that was promised.

I’m sorry there was a problem with the water. In addition to apologizing at the time, I took immediate action to both correct the problem and to mitigate its effects. Recognizing the inconvenience, I also had an immediate refund issued with 24 hours of your arrival. While the water should have been operable on arrival, that it wasn’t doesn’t justify your objectively false review. I’m also disappointed by your selective factual omissions. I offer the following so that future guests have a sense of how I handle the infrequent issues which can arise during a stay at this or any property. I learned of the water issue from the guest upon check-in Nov 2d. Check in starts 4pm. I immediately notified the owner who in turn immediately contacted the water utility. The utility company was not able to restore the water that evening but it was turned back on before 10 am the following morning. I offered to bring the guests water the evening of their arrival. They asked for 3 gallons for each of the 4 people in their party, a total of 12 gallons, but I brought them 16 gallons. The guest is not “waiting to receive” a refund. The guest received payment on Nov 3rd, the day after check-in. I’ve sent the guest several emails and multiple screen shots proving payment had been sent to their bank. I offer a professional hospitality business. In the unlikely event that there is an issue I will work promptly with guests to fix the problem and to ensure that they enjoy their stay at Braddock House.
