About this property

Currawong Cottage with views

Enjoy the stunning escarpments views of Oberon, Porters Pass and the Kanimbla Valley whilst taking in the stunning sunset from this beautiful mountain home.

Originally constructed in 1906 the home has current period features and was refurbished in 2011. There are alternatives for entertainment, a renovated kitchen with modern appliances, a front and back garden with established mature trees, including a lovely apple tree in the backyard.

You will be kept warm in winter with a slow combustion wood fireplace and an instantaneous gas hot water system, and cool in summer with the ceiling fans. This property is a stunning example of Mountain heritage carried fully into the modern era.

Three sizable bedrooms, one with French doors leading to the verandah and two with enormous lead-light windows.

While the house does have two entry steps the whole house is on one level for all the bedrooms, main living areas and bathrooms with a set of stairs to the upstairs 2nd lounge.

Please Note, the Tariff is based on 4 Guests.  If you have more than 4 staying, please enter the correct number to get the correct Tariff.  Maximum 6 Guests.

All long weekends are a minimum 3-night stay, all public holidays are charged at the Weekend Tariff and Easter is a minimum 4-night stay.

Bedding & Linen:
All beds will be made with quality linen before your arrival. Bath towels including bathmats and hand towels are also provided along with tea towels for the kitchen. Doonas / blankets pillows also included.

We had a great time at this property over Easter. The property is very well located with a great view west over the Megalong Valley. We elected not to bring the dog for various unrelated reasons, but it would’ve been fine with well-fenced front and back gardens. The map might suggest the property is a fair way from the Blackheath pubs and restaurants but it was a very easy, pleasant walk after our meal. Highly recommended.

Cozy house with beautiful view.

Beds are great and walkable to town. Bring your own firewood! Guests responsible for dishes so many needed cleaning upon arrival but overall house was very clean.

Everyone so enjoyed the mountain air the views and particularly the property. Great view

Kitchen very well stocked. Bedrooms clean, lovely white sheets, mattress just right degree of firm/soft and plenty of pillows. Living room cosy. Heating good. Upstairs family room with excellent view. All bedrooms downstairs but if disabled, wouldn’t be able to enjoy the view. Negatives are bathrooms are separate from bedrooms and at the rear of the building.
