Peaceful and Beautiful

Our family took our 79 year old mom to see the painted churches. We all stayed at The Hideaway. It was so beautiful and peaceful. We all enjoyed spending time out on the porch just enjoying nature and family time. This place is so nice and clean and our host was very courteous and friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

Just got home from a lovely relaxing weekend. We stayed to go to a family wedding and wanted to stay with family members and not in a hotel. It was perfect for 7 adults to feel like we all had space and not on top of each other. We all got time to enjoy the outdoors and the back patio eating and drinking morning coffee. We had a wonderful time at this beautifully restored home. Huge front and back porches with locally crafted rocking chairs and swings made the sunsets and sunrises comfortable and relaxing! We enjoyed seeing the cows and deer, wading in the cowboy pool, and watching the stars at night. Close to wineries, great food and the painted churches, this is a perfect spot! And our hosts thought of every detail—from games, to fans, to leaving fresh eggs for us (thank you)!! We will definitely come back!

We spent our Thanksgiving holidays at The Hideaway to be close to our family to celebrate in Flatonia. It was a magnificent stay and so peaceful and quiet. We loved reading about the property’s history and seeing the amazing and transformative renovation on this special home. The beds were comfy, the cleanliness was exceptional and the management, Sarah Kate, always responded immediately with helpful information. I cannot say enough to show how wonderful this property is. My family and I had the most relaxing time! The house is comfortable, beds are great, very clean and well equipped. The property is secluded, so great time to relax, barbecue, watch and hear the nature around us. Be aware of the spiders, scorpions and wasps which is expected when outside. The backyard is not fully fenced, so our dog ran away once but came right back. We will definitely be back to enjoy this beautiful property and views! Couldn’t ask for a better stay!

What I enjoyed the most was the quiet. Just to sit outside and listen to the crickets and occasional moos from the cows roaming around. Such a beautiful property, I hated having to leave! My only negative would be the uncomfortable chairs in the living room, but that would not deter me from visiting again. Loved reading about the history of the house, thanks for sharing your lovely place in the country.
