Anembo Country Cottages - Spa Sauna Gym near sports venues, shops, restaurants
Anembo, Indigeneous word meaning 'Peace & Tranquility' or Quiet Place (origin unknown) is exactly what you can expect to experience by staying at Anembo Country Cottages.
The Cottages offer you, your family and/or friends complete privacy and your own piece of heaven, during your stay with us!
Upon arrival to the property, you will gain access to the keys and remote to the security front gate, take the gravel road to the left towards the Cottages, where you can choose to park under either the large double carport in between the two Cottages or in front of Cottage One (which offers wheelchair access).
As you approach the Cottages, it expands into all that is on offer. This includes an "industrial designed" Cottage (Cottage 2) to the right of the carport. To your left you are welcomed into a deceivingly large 3 bedroom Cottage (Cottage 1).
Cottage 1 opens onto an expansive verandah which runs the length of the Cottage, looking out onto a firepit and a 5 person spa, surrounded by beautiful Australian native plants and native birds.
The Cottages have two separate outdoor living spaces which include an outside lounge and outdoor dining setting, it’s own firepit including timber provided.
The Cottages have recently been fitted out to include a range of gym facilities and a vast range of sporting equipment (which although shared, will be only used by hosts when Guests are not present, so as to minimise any enjoyment by our Guests)! This ensures Guests privacy and sole enjoyment of the entire experience on offer, including the facilities and private surrounding gardens.
There is nothing that we haven’t thought of, to ensure that Anembo Cottages are a “home away from home”!
It goes without saying, just like “home”, but hopefully without all the distractions we have at home, preventing you from just relaxing at the Cottages and/or enjoying the many attractions, most of which are within half hour’s drive of the Cottages!
The Cottage is within 3.5 minutes of the Southpine Sporting complex which hosts many Regional, State and National sporting events. Many Guests who stay with us, whilst competing or spectating at the Eatons Hill Sports Complex state that the close proximity to the Complex is without a doubt, the key selling point of booking Anembo verses other locations available!!!
Within minutes of finishing a long hard day, you are sitting in the spa enjoying a cold beverage (while the rest of your team who book alternate accommodation, have up to an hour to reach their accommodation)!!
Other national sporting events are held at Samford i.e. archery, adjoining suburb of Brendale is home to a recently built and designed “world class BMX track”.
The Cottages are located with 5 minutes of the famous Eatons Hill Hotel and many varied dining venues and within short driving distance to Clear Mountain, Samford Valley and the township of Samford, Dayboro, Old Petrie Town, Kurwongbah Lakeside, North Pine Dam, Lake Samsonvale and within 40 minutes of the City of Brisbane.
The Cottages, although nestled within the suburb of Warner, are situated on 2 acres and have all the features and feel of the country! You rarely see or hear from us as hosts, neighbours and we take great joy in providing for your enjoyment some of the joys of living on the property such as free range home grown eggs, our own bee produced honey, chillies and fresh herbs.
For the cooking enthusiasts, the main Cottage is set up with everything you need, excepting a thermomix. Open for suggestions though to add one to the Cottages range of facilities!!
There are plenty of outdoor areas to enjoy, including its own Barbecue, sitting around the firepit during those colder months toasting marshmallows and enjoying S’Mores, enjoying a good red, or sitting in the hot tub which overlooks the firepit taking in the stars of an evening (and our added touch of fairy lights)!
When staying at Anembo, you will awaken each morning to the sounds of birdlife, or our famous Kookaburras and even of a nighttime, our resident Koala is even seen or sometimes heard by his growling noise as he wrestles through the garden bed above the Cottages!
Escape city life, or visit the big smoke, all the while enjoying the country feel of the Cottages, incl the use of the Sauna, Spa, Firepit, Adult & Kids push bikes, Hammock, all of which are maintained regularly,
God willing, our daughter will be willing to share her cubby house and trampoline.
One of the many highlights of the Cottages include an outside fire pit & timber provided, sauna, spa, hammock to relax or to lie on the outside lounge soaking up the sun, have the choice of dining inside or outside, enjoy fire heaters in each bedroom, access to smart TVs in each bedroom (with Netflix, Disney Plus, Stan & Foxtel), well equipped office (if necessary) and a great library to cater for varied interests. We have gone all out to provide a number of gym equipment, sporting equipment and the essential range of board games, which really means you are on holidays!
You want for nothing in the well equipped and large kitchen/dining room, including well known recipe books.
To add to the 'health retreat' feel of the Cottage, we have included for your enjoyment various forms of relaxation equipment and wellness focused aspects.
The Cottage is on acreage which is extremely secure, with a security gate upon entry (entry only permitted by a known code or have access to a security buzzer). The Cottages also features a large double carport, which has been used by guests for large vehicles, including small trucks whilst staying with, undertaking contract work).
Guest access
Guests will have full access to the 3 bedrooms Cottage and very private use of outside entertaining area, complete with outside dining table, lounge, barbeque, own firepit, spa, sauna, own gym, along with your own private garden and parking facilities, including parking permitted in front of Cottage 1 for those with limited mobility and/or ease of unloading bags and/or groceries!
Other things to note
In addition to Cottage 1, we fitted out a 20 foot shipping container as an additional 1 bedroom (sleeping two people), combined with small lounge, TV and coffee making facilities, which can be hired out for an additional fee during your stay, allowing the number of Guests to be increased to 8 people or to be reconfigured as as separate office facility if this best suits the needs of the Guests during their stay with us.
It is ideal for those guests travel with Grandparents, or for those Guests who are resigned to the fact that they need to work normal business hours during their stay with us, albeit being permitted to work from “home” and want the opportunity to close the door behind them and be able to concentrate on your work. It is fully fitted out with appropriate lighting, electricity, air conditioner and a unit and coffee making facilities, including a small fridge.
It is extremely important that Guests confirm the exact number of Guests staying with us and the bed configurations, because facilities such as our bio recycle unit may not cope with the increased demand on facilities such as our bio- recycle unit, as the system is designed for use by only 10 people.
In having said that, we have had some Guests ask that additional family members stay with us in their own caravans and/or staying in tents. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and even have a Leader Caravan (sleeps 6 people) and a Supreme Caravan (sleeps 5)) available for hire, albeit separately on the Camplify platform.
These additional facilities offer the opportunity for large groups or teams to spend time together, rivalled by no other location within minutes of the Sports Complex!!!

Why they chose this property
We chose our property as we loved the fact that it had two separate homes, yet are located approx 100 meters apart from each other, ensuring privacy.
Although we originally invested in the Cottages to assist families from out of town, visit their loved ones in hospital, at such hospitals as Prince Charles Hospital, Holy Spirit & St Vincents Hospital at Chermside, the take up was minimal due to it being more than 20 minutes away.
This eventuated in us becoming Hosts with Airbnb and more recently VRBO. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoy hosting and sharing our beautiful property with others!
Our property (just shy of 2 acres) is zoned rural residential, which means we have loads of privacy and space to kick the footy around, have pets such as our dog, chooks & bees, fruit trees & beautiful gardens. To then have at the back of us a 5 acre nature reserve, we feel nothing but spoilt!

The dual living, especially given that the residences are so far apart from each other, the fact that the property is situated in sleepy quiet streets that still boast a country feel, added to the 5 acre nature reserve to the back of our property.
The uniqueness of our property lies with the fact that despite feeling like you are in the country, we are located within minutes of state of the art sporting facilities, Brendale industrial complex, no shortage of good shopping, restaurants, bars, cafes and a range of both highly regarded private & public schools. It’s simply too good to be true!!
