Downtown Saugatuck and the lake are a short walk from the house. The beach is a short drive. From a location standpoint, the property is great. It has little else going for it. The decor is hideous and very outdated. Appliances and fixtures are cheap, old, and not installed properly. There were several missing light bulbs. The oven is not anchored to the cabinets or wall, it could be pulled completely out when opening the door. The tile floor is in need of a serious scrubbing - it is dingy and very dirty looking. The beds are not at all comfortable. The furniture is mismatched thrift shop. The bathroom in the "master suite" is so small as to be almost unusable. It appears to have been installed in very small closet. A normal sized adult male barely fits in the shower and the sink is miniscule. The second bedroom is large but it is upstairs while the accompanying bathroom is downstairs. That bathroom is a reasonable size, but the shower is still quite small. The upstairs bedroom is a loft-style, with no door, an open railing, and somewhat steep steps up to it. The house looks like it's been decorated for Mardi Gras with purple kitchen cabinets and plastic streamers taped up on some walls. The TV is quite small and there is only seating for 3 people in the living room and 3 people at the dining table. Overall the property was a disappointment.
