About this property

Unique Lighthouse with Bay of Fundy Views & Hot Tub

Picture yourself relaxing on the third floor of this one-of-a-kind lighthouse, watching the tide roll in and out of the Bay of Fundy. From this elevated vantage point, you’ll enjoy ever-changing coastal views while having a peaceful retreat of your own. Although the cottage is close to local restaurants, the beach, and the Fundy Trail, it feels quiet and private—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
This lighthouse was thoughtfully designed with guest comfort in mind and features a unique three-storey layout.
The main level includes a small foyer, a fully equipped kitchen, and a convenient half bathroom. The second level offers a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, along with a full bathroom featuring a shower. The top level is the highlight of the cottage, with a cozy living room framed by panoramic windows and access to a rooftop deck overlooking the Bay of Fundy. The views from this level are truly special, and the famous sea caves are just a short walk away.
Please note that this cottage requires the use of stairs throughout and is best suited for guests who are comfortable with a multi-level layout. Access to the lighthouse is via a long gravel driveway that winds uphill, adding to the character of the property.
Originally designed as a romantic retreat for couples, the cottage now accommodates up to five guests due to popular demand. Sleeping arrangements include one king-size bed in the bedroom, two convertible couches on the top floor, and a sleeper sofa on the main level. Please keep in mind that the king-size bed is the only permanent bed in the cottage.
Whether you’re here to relax, explore the coastline, or experience the dramatic tides of the Bay of Fundy, this unique lighthouse offers a memorable and comfortable place to stay. The only other building on the property is a detached garage that houses our laundry, utility equipment, and storage. It is not another rental cottage or residence. From time to time, we may stop by to test and maintain the hot tub, complete lawn care, or do laundry for our other cottages. We always respect our guests’ privacy, and you’ll still enjoy the peaceful setting and exclusive use of the Lighthouse Cottage and its outdoor amenities.

About the host

Host profile image
I started with one rental cottage in 2019, and over time that little project grew into three coastal cottages that I now host under Cave View Cottages. Hosting has become something I’m genuinely passionate about, and I take a lot of pride in creating spaces that feel welcoming, comfortable, and thoughtfully cared for.
By day, I’m an elementary school teacher and the mom of a teenager. That background has shaped the way I host—organization, clear communication, and attention to detail matter to me, and I want guests to feel at ease from the moment they arrive. I understand how important it is to have a space that feels both relaxing and reliable, whether you’re visiting for a weekend getaway or a longer stay.
I live nearby and am very familiar with the area, so I’m always happy to share local tips, restaurant recommendations, or ideas for exploring the coast. While I respect guests’ privacy, I’m never far away if you need anything or have questions during your stay.
St. Martins and the Bay of Fundy are special places, and I feel lucky to welcome guests to this beautiful part of the coast through Cave View Cottages. I look forward to hosting you and helping make your stay a memorable one.

Why they chose this property

I chose this location because I’ve loved the St. Martins sea caves since I was a little girl. I grew up visiting this coastline, and the beauty of the tides, the cliffs, and the caves has always stayed with me. Being able to share this place with guests—watching people experience it for the first time or return year after year—feels very special to me.

What makes this property unique

What makes this cottage truly unique is its setting and design. Shaped like a lighthouse and perched above the Bay of Fundy, it offers a perspective you don’t find in typical coastal stays. From the top floor, you can watch the world’s highest tides roll in and out, with panoramic views that change throughout the day and with the seasons.
Unlike many properties that are simply near the ocean, this cottage was intentionally designed to showcase the landscape. The living space is on the top floor, allowing guests to fully experience the views of the bay and the famous sea caves from a quiet, elevated vantage point. Being able to sit indoors or step onto the rooftop deck and watch the tides, weather, and wildlife creates a connection to the coast that feels immersive and memorable.
While the location feels peaceful and private, everything St. Martins is known for is close by. The beach, sea caves, and restaurants are just a short walk away, and the Fundy Trail is a quick drive. This balance of seclusion and convenience allows guests to explore during the day and return to a calm retreat in the evening.
The cottage was originally designed as a cozy retreat for couples, but it has been thoughtfully adapted to accommodate small groups while maintaining comfort and character. Every detail was chosen with the guest experience in mind, creating a stay that feels intentional, comfortable, and distinctly connected to the Bay of Fundy.
