The Cayman Condo @ Coconut Bay - Island vibes, ocean views, diving & beaches...
The sea is just out your back door, beyond the beautiful pool. There's a small private beach, with world class diving and snorkelling past that (there is a pristine mini-wall right there, and the 'Big Wall' is a five minute swim from shore). One of the world's best beaches is a few minutes drive away, but you can escape the hustle and bustle that goes along with its popularity, whenever you want to. The views are lovely, rivalled only by the peace and quiet. It's relaxed, Caribbean, island vibes all round - oh, and one of the island's most famous restaurants is literally just next door...

THE SPACE
A lovely, simple, ground floor, 1200 square foot 2 bed 2 bath apartment with ocean views in West Bay on Grand Cayman Island. Easy access - no stairs.
You'd like to rent with us because you didn't come to the Caribbean to stay on the 7th floor of a hotel chain property, you don't want to pay for a "turn down service", and because you appreciate getting away from the noise and the loud music that goes along with 7 Mile Beach in the evenings (but don't worry, that world famous beach is just 5 mins away!).
The apartment has a very large living space, and it's all open plan. The kitchen is large with stools and lots of bench space. There's a couch that seats 6 comfortably and a large dining table to match. The apartment is fully furnished - towels, linen, cutlery, pots, pans, everything.
5 steps out your back door is a beautiful pool with plenty of deck chairs, and the sea is just beyond. And you're on the ground floor, so the whole pool area feels like its your own private space.
There's world class diving and snorkeling straight out the back, tanks and guides available (at an additional charge) on site, and a small private beach - folding chairs, beach towels and a beach umbrella are provided in the condo.
Two of the island's most famous (Macabuca - fun beach fair - dive or snorkel right off the back of the restaurant or snorkel home from lunch and The Cracked Conch - fine dining) restaurants are next door, and some of Cayman's most famous attractions, including the Cayman Turtle Centre and the Dolphin Centre, are just as close.
And then there's everything else that Cayman has to offer you - which is all super close as well (its not the world's biggest island!).
Our ground floor condo will suit couples as well as families or people who don't want to climb up and down stairs every time they head to the pool. We provide DVD players in the living and guest room with a wide selection of DVD's on the off chance that it rains. Classic games and cards are also available.
The Neighborhood:
West Bay is where Cayman comes alive. Seven Mile Beach stretches right up the western coast of the island, but the hotel chains peter out and are replaced by the things you really came to the Caribbean to see - little streets, little shops and stalls, bright colors - the closer you get the more you'll really fell like you've "arrived".
The road that leads you to our place hugs the ocean - you'll never get lost if you follow the ocean!
The diving and snorkeling in West Bay is phenomenal and in particular off the back of the Coconut Bay condominiums. As a super rare bonus it is roughly a 2 minute walk from your back patio. Patrick dives and snorkels (a couple times a day weather permitting) while Whitney is a dedicated snorkeling enthusiast.
The West Bay has several of the premier restaurants on the island offering a full variety of vacation's best options within 2-8 minutes driving. Macabuca, The Cracked Conch, Vivo, Heritage Kitchen and Ristorante Pappagallo to list a few we recommend.
And the size of the island means that while you'll feel like you've gotten away from it all - everything that Cayman has to offer you will never be more than a few minutes drive away.
GETTING AROUND
There's lots of parking right in front of the unit. There's also a local bus service and some taxis, but nearly everyone who comes to Cayman rents a car - almost every major car rental company has an office at or near the airport and a couple local choices also.
Driving is on the LEFT hand side of the road in Cayman. We prefer the European style drivers configuration when renting cars if available (steering wheel on the right of the vehicle) as it seems to make the transition feel more natural).

Located on the beach, this condo is in Northwest Point, a neighbourhood in West Bay. Cayman Motor Museum and Cayman Maritime Treasure Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Port of Georgetown and Bonnie's Arch (Dive Site). Make sure you get close to the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

I began visiting Cayman in 2004. In addition to diving I love the island for its availability of a variety of world class entertainment and activities.
Why they chose this property
I bought this property because to us it has absolutely everything we think you might want from a holiday escape, and none of the things you don't. The previous owners had run the condo as a lovely holiday rental for many years, and we want to carry on their good work.
This condo is easy to access, easy to keep clean, easy to relax in and easy to enjoy. The outlook to the ocean over the pool is spectacular, and the whole pool area just feels like an extension of your own place. It's islandy, laid back, relaxed - exactly what you want for a Caribbean holiday getaway, and as an added bonus, the diving out the back is world famous, as is the bar and restaurant right next door.
People often come to the Cayman Islands and spend $1000 per night for a family of 4 to stay RIGHT on 7 mile beach, and I don't think they often get their money's worth. At the end of the day 7MB is no more than a couple of minutes away no matter where you are on this island, and in any case the island has much more to offer than just that strip of sand. And even if you were staying right on the beach for big $$$ you'd still want a car on the island, so why not save $500 a night and use your car to travel the 1 minute drive down the road to get to the beach? That's our thinking anyway. We hope you come to love our island as much as we do (and that our little holiday escape condo helps that love affair on its way :)

What makes this property unique
It is a ground floor condo with no stairs, with the pool and the ocean just there (feeling like its all yours), with the world class diving (tanks available for hire on site), a private beach and fully stocked with everything you can think of (cutlery, crockery and pots and pans) is pretty special. I re-evaluate, update and refresh the property twice a year and replace equipment as needed as well as add items our guests suggest. Before buying this property I rented all over the world and developed a strong knowledge base about what makes a property great. I try to ensure that every person staying with us walks into the property and says Wow! From the view of the ocean to the easy access to the pool to the best diving on the island right off the back shore I think this is the best location on the island and believe you will agree.
