I have stayed at many condo's on the west cost. Overall this is a good place. I would come back.
Some tips.
They have codes to get in and out and access things like the pool area so you actually have to remember things. If you have trouble remembering things, there are a few tattoo shops north of the condo, so you can get your codes tattooed on your hand, I would suggest room code on the right hand, lobby code on the left hand.
Getting up to the units they have carts downstairs for luggage, groceries, anything heavy.
Use them, but remember to bring them back...and don't bring them to the beach because I think they are aluminum and aluminum would get really hot, so I don't know if the experience of riding the cart to the beach would be worth it or not. Also, because I know you were thinking it, don't jump the cart off the roof and into the pool. Just get that dream out of your head now.
Elevator can be a bit slow during the usual busy times and it has a creepy doll voice that tells you where you are going or where you are at. We had a 1st floor unit, so we used the stairs quite a bit (some of us because it is quicker, for me it was mainly to avoid the creepy doll voice). The elevator also had some kind of sign that said don't hold the elevator door or something catastrophic might happen or something like that, which me being a worry wort made me move really fast in and out, but then I saw some other people holding the door and their arms were not ripped off or anything like that so if you want to risk it, I am not liable if you lose a limb. The sign on the wall warned you.
Walk to the beach is not bad. Maybe 5 min for my wife and 15 min for me, lugging 2 beach chairs, a back pack, a cooler and a boogie board. You have sidewalks, crosswalks, all citizens behaved well when crossing. No road rages. No weapons drawn. No muggings, no carjackings, no one was run over or anything like that, which for Florida, is a great accomplishment.
The beach is in excellent shape but for you beach snobs, this is public beach entrance, so it will be busy. There are also Green Parrots hanging out at the public beach. So if you hear a bunch of cackling, look up and you will probably see them. I don't know if they know how to insult people, but I think the City of Treasure island should consider teaching them some basic insults, because otherwise, what is the point of having parrots at the beach.
Also you will see lots of Parrotheads, which in case you don't know, is an old Buffet fan, bronzed, no shoes, mostly to almost totally drunk (depending on what time of day).
Treasure Island is a big beach, so there is a long walk to get down to the ocean. Follow the Blue walkway by the restrooms and the giant slide on the hot sand days to give your pedicured feet a break. In case you were wondering about the slide, you have to pay to slide, so in turn, they did not seem that busy. I don't think I saw anyone get on that slide. Maybe the City of Treasure Island should consider replacing it with something else that would make more money and be more Florida related and fun for the family like a storage facility, gun range or a strip club.
Having the Publix right next door is a big plus, but note, you cannot access the Publix by car from the building. You have to go out to the road, which going to is easy. Coming back might take longer by car. Do not attempt to drive your car through the concrete wall between the publix and the condo. If you are able, just walk and lug your items up.
The unit was clean, beds were comfortable. Not too much noise from other units. Refrigerator works. Oven works. Toaster works. AC worked. Toilet's flushed. Garbage disposal did seem a bit angry at times, but I have a feeling those guys get pretty abused by the insane things people put down them, so maybe show the garbage disposal some love and don't throw a 2 week old left over T-bone steak down it.
I did not go to the pool and spent all my time at the beach, but others did and they seemed good with it. It looked like the dock is still under repair and closed (due to last year's storms) and knowing the time frame for most of these dock repairs, they will probably have it up and ready to go in time to be leveled again by this years storms.
We had a Bay View on the rear which was really nice. Not sure if the front units get a decent ocean view but I would take the Bay View either way, because ocean side also gets the road, cars, staggering parrotheads, strip clubs, gun ranges (just kidding on the strip clubs and gun ranges). Lot's of dolphins in the Bay also, and from what I could see, no dolphins were hit by raging Jet Skiers or 5 year old kids being dragged in a tube by a drunken speed boat captain.
So like I said, overall, this place is good. Would recommend. Thank you owners for making it available, which you probably need to do just to cover your condo fees and homeowners insurance.
