A Romantic Weekend
Our time at the marvelous Arukah Cottage was truly delightful! It's a place that will always hold a special place in both Eden and my hearts. The cottage's charming presentation and luxurious features epitomise the essence of Australian living. Overall, our experience was incredibly pleasant and memorable.

Tranquility in the Adelaide Hills
My wife and I spent a week at Arukah Cottage and enjoyed our stay very much. Our hosts Donna and Andy greeted us on arrival and were available if needed throughout our stay. They were also very thoughtful, leaving us some lovely treats to enjoy while at the cottage. The cottage was cosy while also being very stylish and set in beautiful grounds. The location is somewhat secluded (which I like) but reasonably near to shops if you need to pop out for anything. Our only regret is being too busy visiting relatives around Adelaide, reducing the amount of time we were able to spend at the cottage. We've done quite a few short stays around Victoria and other parts of Australia and this particular stay is at the top of our list to re-visit. Highly recommended. Thanks again Donna and Andy.

About the host

We live in the gorgeous Adelaide Hills surrounded by farm land and vineyards. We love big wide open spaces, birdlife and creating a place where people can rest and restore. Our cottage was a B&B before we purchased it. We stayed for 2 nights many years ago ourselves as guests. So you can imagine how we 'pinched ourselves' when we found it for sale and in a whirlwind of events in 2016, we purchased it. We haven't looked back. Now we love to share it with others.

Why they chose this property

We love rural living but close to surrounding towns. The Barossa valley and the hills are equal distance apart. The morning birdsong, animal life and weepy tree, our fruit orchard and idyllic old world living are attractive to us.

What makes this property unique

It's 1860's stone and undulating landmarks, coupled with old elms, apple trees and cosy warm fires attracted us from the moment we saw it. It is small, not large and modern, and feels a little like a 'hobbit' house. We love that.
