We had a great stay. The house was very clean! We were a little nervous about staying next to the gas station, but it ended up being handy to have right next door. There was so noise from there, but nothing too bad. The backyard was private and spacious. We would definitely go back!

Beautiful Stay

Our family of four loved the property. It had space to spread out, and the mornings were so peaceful waking up to the water. We enjoyed the kayaks and being on the lake. Thank you!

The place was very clean and had all the dishes we needed. Gas station right next door, which was nice. Big barn, with lots of room and a fire pit, which was great! The beds were not comfortable, which was unfortunate. The washer/dryer combo took 6 hours to wash/dry, which is crazy. They only left 1 roll of paper towel (the one on holder) and 3 trash bags (1 being in the trash bin). With 10 people staying there and the price we paid, you would think they would give extra roll of paper towels and trash bags to make sure we can clean the place. Also, it would have been nice to know we couldn’t have walked in the lake, definitely not a place we could have swam in. Would have been nice to have pen, marker, tape and paper also. Overall, we had a great time! Thank you!

We were also happy to accommodate your early check-in and checkout. We appreciate your feedback regarding the beds, washer/dryer, and additional supplies and will take it into consideration. We provide starter supplies of paper towels and trash bags, though we understand larger groups may go through these items more quickly. We did want to clarify that our listing states there is lake access, which is accurate, as the property is located on the channel. We also provide kayaks and paddle boards for guests to enjoy. However, we have never advertised the lake as a swimming area or advertised swimming as an amenity. We’ll consider making this distinction even clearer in the listing to avoid any confusion. We’re happy to hear you ultimately had a great time, and we appreciate you staying with us!

Great weekend getaway!

This house had every single thing we needed for a fun Memorial Weekend! The teenagers loved fishing off of the dock and kayaking every morning. There were rods, life jacks, corn hole, foosball table, firewood and a great fire pit. Kitchen was awesome, house was clean and well appointed, could have easily stayed a week or more. 5/5 for sure.

If you are looking for total R & R, this is the place! Very quiet, private place. Gas station next door, but not loud at all. The cottage was super clean and had all of the amenities we needed for our stay. Unlike other places, I loved that that the owner supplied an over abundance of toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags & towels. Fishing was great off the dock. Not sure about swimming because there is ALOT of seaweed. There's a small sand area for kids to play. The firepit area was great and the owner provides all the fire you can burn. The kayaks were a plus for my adult children.If you want to venture out and do some sightseeing, Traverse City is about 40 minutes away and Torch Lake is about 30 minutes away. Closest grocery store is about 15-20 minutes away. Overall, we had a great week at the cottage! We would definitely stay there again!

This was a great location for family with a dog if you plan to stay at the cottage your whole stay. Nothing nearby. The fenced in front yard was perfect for our dog and the firepit and kayak's were fun. The cottage was clean and laid out well but the two small rooms with twin beds (with trundles) would be better with another full sized bed and/or two twins. The two negatives I'd point out were being directly next door to a gas station (a bit bothersome) and nowhere nearby to walk your dog as the road is basically on a two-lane highway with little or no shoulder and lots of curves (hard to see oncoming cars). I left messages also before our trip with questions and one during the trip - no response to the first two messages at all and the message during our stay was answered a day after we left the cottage. Not great communication.
