Wyse Cottage was built at the turn of the 20th century and has the charm of that era combined with the comforts we expect today.
The cottage is centrally located which means there will be traffic noise.
It’s an easy 550 metre walk to the Botanic Gardens and many popular cafes for breakfast or lunch. You also have a great choice of restaurants in the CBD and if you travel for half an hour or so, you will find excellent cafes, wineries and restaurants in Rutherglen, Wahgunyah & Beechworth.
We welcome up to two pets and ask that they have their own bedding, stay off the beds and furniture and that you clean up after them. Please note that we have courtyard style gardens both front and rear, not lawn areas.
The space Private, stand alone, updated two bedroom house with secure undercover parking and two living areas.
This is a period cottage with a heritage overlay, not a modern, contemporary house, so if you’re looking for large scale rooms or a big yard please choose an alternate property.
The kitchen has all the essentials including a Nespresso machine and dishwasher and the bathroom includes a free-standing bath and giant shower head. There is a separate toilet room and a laundry with washing machine.
Of course we have NBN and both TVs have Chromecast.
In summer the evaporative air-conditioning keeps you cool while in winter the house is very cosy with the ducted heating. Guest access Guests have private access to the property. There is a private front garden and a small courtyard area at the property’s rear, a double carport for your private use and street parking.
Keys are found in the lockbox for your convenience.
We are available to help with anything you may require during your stay so don’t hesitate contacting us with any queries. Other things to note We provide a welcome basket with some breakfast basics for your arrival, including eggs from our hens (when laying), milk, cereals, muesli bars and a few coffee pods for the Nespresso.
The home has a step down from the front living room to the kitchen, a flight of four stairs down to the family room, bathroom, toilet and laundry and a further flight of stairs to the small back garden area.
Please note that we do not accept bookings from guests who are preparing for weddings. We’ve had to make this decision due to experiences with damage caused as a result of having unbooked guests attending the property including photographers, videographers, makeup artists, hairdressers, other members of the wedding party, other family members, etc.
Additional charges will apply for the following: - UNDECLARED guests ($50 per person per night) - UNDECLARED pets ($100 per pet per night) - charging electric vehicles ($18 per vehicle per day) - please note we do not provide a charging unit so it is expected that guests provide a portable unit. The fee is cost recovery - damages (as per VRBO policies)
The house is not considered to be childproof and being centrally located, the road can be quite busy. We therefore strongly recommend that if you have young ones from toddler to ten years of age you would probably be more comfortable booking an alternative property.
We have an exterior camera which is able to record (picture and sound) and it is located at the entrance to the property in the carport area for the safety and security of our guests and our home. Registration number PID-STRA-7143

The property was lovely - the host was welcoming and had provided some items for breakfast, which was very thoughtful of her. The house was charming and had great amenities.
The National park experience is not relevant as we stayed in Albury Really enjoyed our time at Wyse cottage and would definitely recommend it to fellow travellers Thanks Linda for being a fabulous host
We stayed two nights here and it was lovely. So clean and comfy. Beds great and they’ve thought of everything. Will definitely stay again if passing this way.
Great little cottage in a central location, a short walk or drive into the centre of Albury. Linda, our host, was very attentive and had no hesitation dropping in to fix a minor issue. Thanks Linda.
