Grassy Point Getaway

This rental is close to Grassy Point where there are beautiful sunsets. You’ll love it because of the high ceilings and the location. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups. Whole house. Please read house manual in advance of your arrival. In general we look for a minimum 7 day booking during the summer but do make exceptions if we find there are there unbooked days between rentals.

The whole house and surrounding yard is part of this rental.

My family and I felt very comfortable. The hosts respected and gave us exceptional privacy and was very helpful in every question we had. We enjoyed meeting them and was made to feel very comfortable staying in their home and overall it made the magic of Hornby island even for just a week a really wonderful experience for us. We plan to make their accommodation an annual vacation.

The pictures on VRBO don't do this home justice. I don't think this is a "vacation home." This is a home that represents a lifetime of collecting and whimsy and love. It's huge and there is a lot going on from the massive commercial stove and kitchen to the Goldilocks bedroom situation. It is very quiet with a selection of spaces to sit and read a book. Excellent wifi but very spotty cell reception. We lost count of the number of doors that lead outside, none seemed to lock. If you want to experience the eclectic artistic island vibe with 8 of your closest friends, this is your place.

All the whimsy and magical artistic touches i long for along with comfortable spaces for sleeping, cooking, gathering and relaxing. The indoor and covered outdoor lounging spaces were very appreciated especially on our one or two rainy days.

Another great week at Grassy Point Getaway

This is our second summer staying at the Grassy Point Getaway. We really enjoy the eclectic art and decor and the chill vibes. Russell and Cori are great hosts. We enjoyed being able to walk down to Grassy Point to watch the sunset and the moonrise. Thanks for a great stay!

Great stay at Grassy Point Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grassy Point Getaway. The house is within walking distance to Grassy Point for watching beautiful sunsets and central to everything else on Hornby. We enjoyed the beautiful artwork and artefacts throughout this lovely family home. Hope to be back!

Affordable & eclectic

This was a great place to stay for having multiple bedrooms and enough space for our family plus grandparents. It was also less expensive than a number of other listings I looked at. The location is good, it was quiet at night (minus a few roosters early in the morning), and the kitchen was well stocked. However, the house is stuffed full of art, knickknacks, and furniture and is not suitable for children under 5.

Hornby Island is a magical place and the home at grassy point getaway makes it even more special. Watching the deer munch on the grass from the covered porch was wonderful. We stayed here with family and there is ample room for everyone. I highly recommend staying here! Catching the sunset at grassy point park was spectacular.
