Beach Gear Beach chairs and umbrellas are not provided. Instead, your stay includes a VayKLife rental credit for beach essentials such as chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and wagons—delivered right to your door. On-site gear availability varies and cannot be guaranteed. Elevator Notice The building elevator is currently functional, but as mechanical equipment, uninterrupted operation cannot be guaranteed. Refunds cannot be issued for elevator outages. Construction & Maintenance There are ongoing repairs and construction within the Resort. It was okay. Wouldn’t stay again. The condo needed updating. It was too utilitarian and definitely screamed rental property. It was very clea, but the scent of Fabuloso was overpowering . Pool wasn’t available until our third day. Too many text messages from management was annoying.

Building needs a lot of work. Doors are in bad shape. Villa was not cleaned well. The floor was dirty and left our feet black. They did gone clean but had to wait a day. Coffee pot should be bigger.

Coffee pot too small only held 4 cups . Door issues that worked out . Remotes needed new batteries but we love this place and felt welcomed knowing we fixed a couple of things and will come back again! Home away from home.

The property was lovely! The space was clean and comfortable. The location was central to the beach and pool. We would definitely return! Just the quiet we needed!!
Loved Captiva and overall property. Clean. Well kept. The unit overlooks mangroves. Short drive to beach villas where you can park for beach. Beach was amazing. Seashells everywhere, almost no waves, not crowded and peaceful.
Overall nice property. Bed was comfortable and location was nice. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Walking distance to beach. Our TV didn’t work upon arrival, and they quickly fixed it, very courteous.

Area was great, but a lot of construction was going on. Also, the floors although swept needed to be mopped. You could not walk barefoot or you would have black gunk on the bottom of your feet. Kinda disgusting actually.

We openly disclosed on the listing description about the resort including: **Please note that due to Hurricane Ian, certain building amenities such as the elevator, pool heater and more may not be functioning properly. There will also be noise associated with reconstruction. Perfect place for Captiva Homeowners, vendors, etc.** as we don’t want any guest to be blind sided. It’s disappointing to receive such a review as we rebuild and just looking for guests that want to support our islands
I stayed at South Seas Resort a few years ago and it was spectacular. It has taken a beating from the recent hurricanes. It was sad to see how much damage it has incurred. The good news is they are working very hard to restore it to a premier destination! We will be back.

The apartment was very nice — clean, everything working, and the pool close by and well maintained. A/C couldn’t go below 72, but it was fine. The beach is beautiful and about a 7-minute walk.Important to know: when booking through Vrbo/third parties you can’t use the resort amenities, only the beach. Without a car you’ll need to walk a lot (or rent a golf cart, which adds to the budget). Also, there’s no Uber/Lyft or Uber Eats service here, so plan accordingly for meals.Resort staff were still very nice and helpful, especially the shuttle drivers. Overall a great stay, just be prepared for walking and limited services if you don’t have a car.

We stayed here for a quick trip to Sanibel. The property was well-maintained (there is construction happening at the resort, but it was not at all disruptive). Check in was a breeze, place was clean and great for a quick stay. Elevators worked! We wanted to use to pool one night, but couldn’t find a way to turn the lights on. No big deal!Property is a short walk to the beach (preferred over driving, since it’s 25 for 2-hour minimum) and the Starbucks across the street was a god-send. We walked off the property for dinner and a sunset one evening and felt safe during the walk back in the dark.

We enjoyed our time at South Seas and in this condo! Everything was clean and the listing was true to the pictures. We bought groceries and cooked most of our meals in the condo. A few notes on kitchen items - the can opener didn't work well, the vegetable peeler also didn't work well and these could use replacing. We decided make cookies on a rainy day and there were no cookie sheets. These are minor things, but thought you might want to know!

We arrived at this property to find cockroaches, a rusting refrigerator, a filthy bedroom rug , a hole in the drywall , a bathtub that sounds like it will go thru the floor and a bed that is totally unusable.We paid a lot of money for a five night stay which we were not able to stay at one night.On top of this neither dream vacations or Vrbo are willing to take responsibility.On our way out the fellow at the gate told us we were not the only people .They are getting a lot of complaints.That money was a lot to us being Canadians .we have stayed on Sanibel for years now and never dealt with cockroaches.They should be ashamed renting such an unhealthy home
