About this property
Whole-cottage rental near Kawaguchiko & Saiko; wood stove, BBQ, Mt. Fuji views
About 90 minutes by car from central Tokyo, Saiko (Lake Saiko), at an altitude of 900 meters, is an area renowned for its tranquility and natural beauty among the Fuji Five Lakes. Saiko remains largely untouched by commercial development, preserving much of its original nature. Strolling along the lakeside, you can enjoy breathtaking views characterized by the contrast of Mt. Fuji, the lush greenery of the sea of trees(jukai), and the cobalt blue lake surface. Thanks to these spectacular views, the Saiko area often quietly appears in domestic and international advertisements, with many people seeing it without realizing it. Wild animals such as deer and serow occasionally appear in the area, allowing visitors to enjoy encounters with nature just a short distance from the city. Saiko also gained attention as the place where the Kunimasu trout, once thought extinct, was rediscovered. Efforts to protect the rich ecosystem are ongoing, and swimming is entirely prohibited. As a result, there is no noise or waves from motorboats, making it ideal for fishing as well as water activities like kayaking and SUP on the mirror-like lake surface. Additionally, as the circumference of Saiko is about 10 km, it is also popular for walking, jogging, and cycling.
Weekend House Saiko is spread over approximately 3,500 square meters (cottages A to E) and 4,000 square meters (cottages F and G), with each cottage offering over 100 square meters of spacious, tranquil space that can be rented entirely for private use. Each cottage is equipped with a wood stove and floor heating, and the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils, allowing you to enjoy local ingredients while preparing your own meals. On the private deck, you can relax in a hammock or have a BBQ while gazing at the forest or lakeside scenery. In the morning, enjoy coffee to the sound of birdsong, and at night, marvel at the star-filled sky. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city, digitally detox, and tune your mind and body through the richness of nature.
At Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba, you can enjoy a restored village of thatched-roof houses with Mt. Fuji as a backdrop, and in spring, rows of cherry blossoms add to the stunning view. The area is also dotted with dynamic natural attractions, such as Narusawa Ice Cave and Fugaku Wind Cave, the largest lava caves at the foot of Mt. Fuji, and the Aokigahara Sea of Trees. Lake Kawaguchi is just a 5-minute drive away, while Arakurayama Sengen Park, famous for photos of Mt. Fuji and the five-story pagoda, and Nishiura Street, popular for its views of Mt. Fuji and the shopping street, are about 30 minutes by car. This makes it possible to enjoy a variety of popular spots while using the tranquil Saiko area as your base.
Our facility is a healing space surrounded by tranquil nature. Please enjoy the beautiful scenery, the sounds of nature, and new experiences. For this reason, it may not be suitable for those who love parties, those who dislike insects, or those who require a TV. Please also note that while we maintain our cottages carefully, they are not newly built and may show signs of age.
